Question about Sony Walkman NWZ-S616F MP3 Player
I have brought a Sony Walkman E436F that states it needs the OS to be Windows XP or Vista. The problem is my PC is only a AMD Duron 1100 MHz with 786MB Ram running Windows 2000. Is there a solution to transferring files as the software provided (Windows Media Player 11/Media Manager for Walkman) will not load?
I've been using mine with windows 2000. the only thing you can't do is sync it up correctly to Windows Media Player. I even got mine to sync to Windows Media Player 9, but I still had to drag and drop some files Windows 2000 will find the walkman as a device. Click on My Computer and find your device It should be "mounted" as a disk drive. Then you can drag and drip files to the Music folder. Don't return it. Drag and drop is the way to go with this player. IF you hate the idea of an IPOD to sync up to itunes and being strapped you to one computer to do all your downloads then you want the walkman.

Seems your SOL with Windows 2000. I checked Sony's site and the model you have is not compatible with your OS. Return it or get XP. Your system sounds like it has the requirements for Windows XP. Sorry but that's the best I can tell you.
