Sony nwz-e436f walkman os issue

I have brought a Sony Walkman E436F that states it needs the OS to be Windows XP or Vista. The problem is my PC is only a AMD Duron 1100 MHz with 786MB Ram running Windows 2000. Is there a solution to transferring files as the software provided (Windows Media Player 11/Media Manager for Walkman) will not load?

    I can locate the walkman NWZ E436F from My computer and I can drag and drop files to and from the player; however, I can not eject the device to unplug it safely. I don't seem to have any other problem because I don't use Windows Media Player so I don't need or want to sync it to WMP like an IPOD would to itunes. That is the reason I got this player. It's great; except I can't eject or unmount the device in Windows 2000

I've been using mine with windows 2000. the only thing you can't do is sync it up correctly to Windows Media Player. I even got mine to sync to Windows Media Player 9, but I still had to drag and drop some files Windows 2000 will find the walkman as a device. Click on My Computer and find your device It should be "mounted" as a disk drive. Then you can drag and drip files to the Music folder. Don't return it. Drag and drop is the way to go with this player. IF you hate the idea of an IPOD to sync up to itunes and being strapped you to one computer to do all your downloads then you want the walkman.

Seems your SOL with Windows 2000. I checked Sony's site and the model you have is not compatible with your OS. Return it or get XP. Your system sounds like it has the requirements for Windows XP. Sorry but that's the best I can tell you.

Hi,

I suggest that you reset the Walkman Player, Format it back to factory default to resolve the issue. Press the BACK/HOME button select SETTINGS-->COMMON SETTINGS-->FORMAT.

This should resolve the issue.

Thanks for using FixYa.

My sony walkman nwz-e436f is full of songs but is now telling that no songs are available for playback. Is there anything I can do, I have already tried to reset but nothing happened.

It appears that your walkman is still turning on. When you connect it to your computer, check windows media player and look if it recognizes your walkman. If it is not recognized. look it up from windows explorer as a removable device, and take it from there.

Sony Walkman NWZ-E436F will not connect to PC or charge. On connecting USB cable, Walkman logo display blinks or unit freezes on creating library ''clockface''

First reset yours by the Back button;

If not solved;

Reset again by the button, the On the Computer by Fat32 Format, and then Copy the Initial Files that were on your MD when you Bought;

Good luck
