You can't. If it won't let you, then it means that the ringtone is inappropiate.

When trying to play my ringtones it says device media processor is busy and also says error playing in the top right hand corner. why? also phone will not ring

This problem generally occurs when your media card is not correct. You can get in to this situation with a bad media restore.
Plug your phone in to your computer and check the contents of your media card. You need to have a ringtones folder created. Copy all of your ringtones in to this folder. They are most likely somewhere else on the card.
Once you do that follow this set of instructions to get everything set back up:

My Phone is being STUPID!! HELP!!

Hi Heather
The media card on the handset is not installed properly and not in the right mode
Please try these steps out
1. To install a memory card into your device Go to Options > Media Card.
2. Enable Mass Storage Mode by changing the option to “On”
3. Change “Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected” to Yes.
4. Connect the device to the PC
5. A Dialog will pop up
6. Select “Open A Folder to View Files”
7. Memory card will display all the folders on
8. Navigate to the BlackBerry folder
9. Navigate to the ringtones folder
10. Drag the ringtone downloaded from the PC into the ringtones folder.
Please do let me know whether the problem is solved or not.
Remember the first three steps are most imortant as that is where you install the media card and set it to the right mode
Good Luck and lets hope for the best

Blackberry curve ringtones

You cannot save a ringtone, picture, or music to a SIM card. Those files get saved to the "hard drive" of the phone. In order to get music into your phone to use as a ringtone, you must either

1. Download through one of those pay for services like Jamster or through t-zones or the like.

2. Use a data connection plan to download from the "mobile net". Sites are free that let you upload your music to an address that you can go to on your mobile web and download to your phone. The phone usually knows where to download the ringtone to on its own. T-mobile's t-zones costs $5.99 a month for the mobile web.

3. Use a USB connector and the media managing software for the phone to transfer the file to your phone. The Motorola RZR uses a software called Motorola Phone Tools to do this. The Blackberry also has its own Blackberry User Tools Software. Usually, the software shows you the "folders" on the phone and one will be called "tones". You put it there and it comes up in your list of ringtones.

Blackberry Curve 8310 loading ringtones

Two ways:

1. Use the included Blackbery Desktop software and run "Media Manager". This will let you transfer any song on your computer over to the BB.

2. You can mount the BB as a drive in Windows and just copy the music file over directly. (This may only work if you have a media card installed -- might not work with built-in memory only.)

After copying the music over use the included Media application to try to play it. Once it plays in Media Manager you can be sure it will play as a ring tone.

Use the "Profiles" application and select "Advanced." Scroll to the "Tune" setting and select it. Scroll to the top of the list and select "Browse..." From there you can select the song and it will be a ringtone.

You can also set a ringtone individually for a contact in the address book. Edit the person's contact info and choose a custom ring tone at the bottom of the Edit screen.
