Re: what schould i do
Install Skype and you will be able to take a picture of yourself. Not sure why it won't let you take pictures as you have it installed.
First, download SKYPE by double clicking on this
and install it.
Then let all your family and friends know you’re on Skype
and give them your ID. After they get on Skype and you know their ID's
add them to you Contacts in Skype. After you connect up with them you can
turn the camera on so they can see you.
Skype is a free download and free to converse by computer without
paying and you can talk to several people at a time.
It only costs if you call a telephone number from your
computer while on Skype. Once you get the hang of it, you will enjoy it.

What's there to lose? It is cheap and it does not work as you want to. So the only thing you can do is make it worse. Or perhaps you solve the problem. Go for it and keep in mind if it does not work perhaps you need to buy a new one.
Sounds like it is working fine, your problems may lie where the camera is trying to save the photos on your computer. can you set the default save location for photos and video?
It may be trying to save them in a location that does not exist
is it because its dark? for this webcam and alot of other webcams, the lighting of the room is a kep factor for the quality of your picture =] i think the reason the picture sucks and its fuzzy and the playback is slow is because its dark, in your room... theres like a funnel looking thing infront of your lens, try to keep the funnel thing from keeping a shadow.. if you see in the daylight with the windows open or open lighting from the sun, the quality of your picture is bomb =] if this doesnt work, im sorry =]
if you take a picture from your camera..in the upper left side, you will see the "File", click that file then save to any folder you want=.)...or right click your camera to explore your camera, then, on your left side you will a dialog box, click the "take new picture.. and then shot of your pic. is in the bottom, right click that pic. and then save to any folder you want.
I would assume that by "i have tried with the settings..." that you are referring to the Camera Properties in Windows. Perhaps you should try mechanical setting, that is manually adjust the focus of the lens. Around the actual lens to the front of the camera, rotate the stub/protrusion while watching the camera display on your monitor. Adjust to your preference. It may also be a good idea to increase the light in your work area.
Hope this works out for you. Good luck and pls post again how things turn up or if you would need further information. Kind regards.
