Make sure you have water to the fridge and then make sure your filter is pushed in all the way. If thats not it
There should be two solenoids located behind the fridge at the bottom one is for your ice and one for water. Unplug unit and test the water solenoid with an ohm meter across the two terminals if it ohms out or beeps than your solenoid is bad.

Whirlpool fridge making a low, intermitant groaning sound

Is it coming from inside fridge compartment or freezer compartment or from outside back. If it is from freezer compartment and you have no water line connected to ice maker. Then it might be just your ice maker trying to go into fake harvesting mode. Make sure the Icemaker is off. Icemaker arm should be up.

I have a a whirlpool wrn42nwf6 fridge, and it is building water up on the inside ... im thinking blocked breather hole , but cant find it ..could you please give me any advice

Same issue with mine.

There is a drain between the freezing radiator behing the freezer compartment. The only way to get to that radiator is to remove the lining of the freezer.

There is a rubber elbow att he top left of the main fridge compartment . Remove that elbow by gently pulling it. Get a bit of flexible electrical cable and feed it down the pipe that is behind the lining of the main compartment and wobble it up and down that should make sure the pipe is clear.

then pust the cable upwards into the pipe coming down from the freezer. that should make sure that is clear.

The pipe that runs domn the back of the main compartment comes out down below someplace. I am in the process of finding out where.

Water is dripping from just behind refrigerator light closer to the back of fridge.

You will need to remove the rear panel from inside the freezer compartment and thaw the drain line. It is below the aluminum evaporator coil. Once thawed, install a drain heater to prevent this from happening again. The heater is inexpensive and easy to install. It comes with complete instructions.

Water is pooling at bottom of fridge, comes out from area at top in the back behind light.

If your freezer is above your refrigerator compartment, this may be your problem:

Your defroster (automatic) may not be working properly. Ice is building up in freezer drain, damming up the drain hose to the outlet. Water then overflows down into the refrigerator compartment.

I have water pooling on my fridge trays and than turning into ice . The water seems to be coming from the vents. How do i get rid of that.

The freezer compartment has a drain hole behind the back wall inside the freezer compartment. The drain hole has probably rusted and has gotten larger. Carefully remove the icemaker and the screws from the back wall inside the freezer compartment. Lift the bottom of the back wall and look to see if the drain hole has gotten larger. You can make a small funnel from an aluminum can to fit over this area directing the water into the drain tube. It worked for me. good luck. Dave.

Whirlpool fridge getting water from upper freezer compartment

well if you hat the freezer on top normaly air leaks inside freezer through the drain tube, that air turns into condensation and creates a ice and cloges your drain. now water can drain down to pan everytime ref goes into defrost , and water leaks to bottom section to air ducts and air returns. there are several ways to solve this problem the cheapeste way is to unplug refrigerator for 2 days then plug back up and it should go back to normal another way is to install a heat probe on your drain attached to your defrost heater , and add a grommet on drain tube that will let water drain but it will keep air out and that will solve your problem.
