Hi, I can only see part of your question and do not know how old the post is so you may already have the answer. In response to the first question, yes you can name the file/image at the time of scanning before sending to Email/Shared Folder etc...

You probably need to set the user settings to "long doc" mode.

1) When the machine is in the standby state,
press the NEW FILE key and Count Only key
simultaneously. During the user mode, the
LEDs of the NEW FILE key and Count Only
key illuminate and the address (U01-U10)
and data (the last digit) appear on the
counter display.
2) When changing the address, use the NEW
FILE key. Each time NEW FILE is pressed,
the address changes, cycling from U01 to
3) When changing the data, use the Count Only
key. Each time Count Only is pressed, the
data changes.
4) Pressing the Stop key exits the user mode.

Long document mode =U10; 0=normal and 1=long document mode.

I have a Cannon ScanFront 220P. The page feeder will only work if I manually push one page in at a time. Is ther a way to fix this?

You should clean your pick-up and separation roller using cloth soaked in water. Be sure not to use alcohol because it reacts with the rubber roller.

We have this odd issue where although the machine has not gone to sleep it loses network connection consistently every 5 hours after non-use. Actually, we have 6 of these machines in our business and they...

I have many years experience repairing Canon scanners so here is my suggestion for you.

I have seen this problem before, what happens is when your computer goes to sleep it drops the connection to the scanner, its the computer that is causing the problem not the scanner. I suggest you turn off sleep mode. Also if your doing a lot of scanning with this model I would suggest a fresh reboot daily with this scanner. If you have any other questions let me know.

I hope this helps you out

I've configured the network interface to have a static IP on our network, as well as the proper gateway, DNS servers, etc. II'm pretty sure that shared folder address book entry within the scanner is...

Is the network folder on the same subnet as your scanner? We discovered with ours that the folder needs to be on the same subnet to be able to scan to it. Canon tech support verified this when we called them. Also, I would verify that your domain accoutn can reach the destination outside the scanner to eliminate that possible issue. Our solution to placing something on another subnet was to set up a folder on the subnet to scan to and then use a batch file to copy the files out to the other location at a given regular interval.

Where can i purchase replacement glass for the Canon dr-9080c scanner

I have many years experience working with Canon scanners. So I may be of some help to you.

Canon parts like the lens your looking for are captive parts through a canon dealer. My one suggestion to you is try Ebay. Sometimes you can run across someone on there that is stripping down a scanner and is more than happy to sell you the part you need. If you need any other help let me know. And I hope my advice helps you out.

How do I add a new user to scanfront220p

Best advice is to access the web menu on the device and log in as the administrator.
Firstly, the network scanner needs an IP Address in order to access the web menu. You will need to log in as an administrator to change the IP address settings on the device.
I found that the default "administrator mode" password was just blank - no password whatsoever.
Sit down at the scanner and click the administrative mode or administrator button at the login screen. You should be prompted for the password.
If you have a router that uses DHCP then be certain that the device is configured for use with DHCP. Otherwise, configure a static IP address on it that is within the IP range of the network it is connected to.
Once you have either discovered the IP address of the scanner or assigned one manually you will want to go to another computer on the same network.
To access the web menu you will need to go to the IP address of the device - I.E. if the scanner has an ip address of type in:
into a web browser (as though you were typing in - ONLY type in the numbers and periods). The web browser needs to be on a computer that is on the same network or connected directly to the scanner via an ethernet cable and have an IP address set statically on its network card. I would google "Setting a static IP Address" and the name of your OS.
From there you will see a "To Administrator Mode" link in the upper right hand corner of the Web Menu screen. Click on that and authenticate with the same administrator password that was used earlier.
You should be able manage user accounts from within the administrative web menu!
