What is the serial number for your computer? I am unable to find an e-2000, or an E Series on Gateway's website.

Get a card with as much VRAM as you can afford. If there is a computer re-cycler in your area go there. They usually sell for $5.00 to $10.00. They should guarantee it will work and if not will exchange for another. Also take in your current card so you can match the slot: PCI, AGP etc. They also may have some newer used cards which of course will cost more. All of my computer equipment is used. There is good used stuff out there if you know where to look. Also make sure that what you buy is compatible with your operating system: Win 98, XP,VISTA, Mac, Linux etc. That is all I can think of right now.

Not sure how reputable these guys are, but here's something at least...

Also, make sure that you're buying PCI cards, and not PCI-e.

My video card will not work. how do i install a new one if i cant see the old one?

I don't understand what you mean, but I'm going to assume you cannot see it because it's an onboard video card.

You can install one inside of the computer, a video card is not software. you can purchase a new card from http://www.newegg.com Make sure that the card is compatible with your PC before you buy.

Need to restore gateway e2000

I've looked around, but can't find any single resource for drivers. What I ended up doing was use MvPcInfo to find what hardware was in the PC. Then, downloaded drivers from Intel.com, Realtek.com, etc. to get the PC going again. I realize that's not a great solution, but I don't think there are any better --- short of finding someone who has the original Gateway Restore CD.

I hope this helps!
