First of all shut the system down ...
than start it again and when you see the memory chk start hitting the F8 key keep tapping it dont hold it down and when you see the boot optiong select the one that says safe mode with networking
you have to use the arrow keys coz mouse wont work and when selected hit enter
and than when you get the login screen and if you have the option with administrator ... hit admin
and than see if you are able to go through IE
if yes that that means the firewall is stopping the ie and the firefox from connecting to the net
so go ahead and remove the antivirus and the firewall and than restart the system and chk in the normal mode
if you still face the same issue ... that means you have a firewall still which is blocking
if you have a router reset it or disable the firewall in it
that will resolve it

Computer pop ups?

Not the most descriptive problem.

So lets guess, me thinks when you are using a internet browser program to access web sites like www.fixya.com?? Then at random times additional browser windows pop up trying to sell something etc.

Most likely your PC is infected. Stop using Internet Explorer (IE) and use Chrome/Firefox. Then with in your new browser add the extension/plugin Ad Block or Ad Block Plus both are free.

Then head on over to www.filehippo.com and download ccleaner and marlwarebytes. Install one at a time, malwarebytes first. Have it update and then select full scan/ Come back in a few hours and check all the little boxes it found problems on.

Start by checking the status of the modem in device manager, right click my computer and select manage, then on the left side select device manager, on the right side look for anything with ! or ? mark and look for your modem.

Driver downloads

You will have to open up your network connections

Click start control panel network connections this may vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark!?
you will need to update or install the driver or it could be firewalled.

Make sure your antivirus program is not blocking the internet connection.

If you are trying to connect through a modem/router you it should have come with a disk then
you might have to connect the usb lead to your modem to get a connection then

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to network adapters should see a yellow question ? exclamationmark! or a red Xright click install drivers.

The driver might be on the disc supplied by your ISP internet service provider
or the motherboard disc

You only need to check the BIOS if you cant install the driver or you could download one
http://download.cnet.com/Realtek-i160-zip/3000-2112_4-167536.html
16.8 mb
http://download.cnet.com/Jetway-motherboard-driver/3000-2098_4-163033.html
This driver package is 150 mb
Download these and save them to a USB Portable Drive then install them from there to get an internet connection once you have the internet.

Once it starts downloading windows will ask whether you want to run or save it
a browse option will open you can save it into your External Drive F: or E: or a folder in my documents or another device or a usb device.

Rather doing a driver hunt which can take hours

http://download.cnet.com/SlimDrivers-Free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html
Windows XP/Vista/7/8

it might take some time being a freeware driver solution
Note: it will find all of your outdated drivers

This will automatically search for and find the correct driver you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point.

Click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated.
also at cnet
http://download.cnet.com/2000-20_4.html
on the home page you should see a search tab just type in what you are looking for

IE: Motherboard name sound drivers.

Place a tick in either windows software or all software box.

You might have to try a few times to get it right.

If you need more help with this post a reply.

Its illegal for anyone to provide serial keys for programs that have retail values set on them there are lots of freeware alternatives on the internet.
Download Anything Faster.
We all know that internet downloads can take quite a long time to download.
If your looking to make your downloading faster - you're reading the right article.
Accelerating your downloads is easier than you think.
There are a few tricks to speed up any download you have.
The most important thing to consider while trying to download something - remember what kind of internet connection you have.
If you have dial-up, you should be prepared to wait awhile. If you have DSL or cable speed internet and it's still going slower than a snail, chances are you have too much going on with your computer. I will explain further!
When downloading anything from the internet, you shouldn't have too many other applications or programs running.
Keep it simple. Say, your downloading a song - don't keep searching the internet and IMing someone at the same time.
Close all other programs running until your done downloading your files.
When your download is going way too slow, try hitting Ctrl + Alt + Del and go to your task manager for Windows.
A lot of times, programs are still running that you have no idea about.
Left click programs and end the task.
This can accelerate any download, even if your using dial-up still.
If you are using a router for your DSL, you might want to consider unhooking the router and plugging in your modem directly to your computer until your done downloading files.
A lot of times, your router strength isn't half as strong as your actual modem connection.
You should always consider getting a download manager to accelerate and manage downloading. This can make everything so much easier and faster.
I would suggest downloading the Firefox download manager.
http://download.cnet.com/mozilla-firefox/3000-2356_4-10208565.html
Or orbit download manager
http://download.cnet.com/orbit-downloader/3000-2071_4-10600926.html
You can pick and choose which downloads you want to accelerate and pause.
http://download.cnet.com/bittorrent/3000-2196_4-10211384.html
Search the Internet for torrent files, and download and upload files.
Internet Download Accelerator lets you conveniently manage downloads by organizing them in categories with automatic category detection option. Free

We are glad to inform you that a new version of FDM 3.9 has been recently released.
It includes a support for Firefox 10-14, as well as updated torrents core library, updated help file, and a pack of general bug fixes.

Hi,
Are you using Internet Explorer? You can go to Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - Reset. Do this to reset your IE. Restart your computer to make sure. Hope this help. Otherways, download firefox and use it to see where is problem. If firefox can use, that mean your internet, your modem router, your firewall setting is normal, just Internet Explorer has problem. Remove Internet Explorer and reinstall it. Thanks for reading

Remove the update the caused the problem in add remove programs, then update manually, or turn off auto update. You can also install and use firefox instead of IE or try doing a repair to IE. Usually IE updates to version 8 and it has problems - version 7 works fine. Uninstalling 8 changes it back to 7. Version 8 will not download properly on a lot of sites - they changed it so U have to use Windows explorer instead to download from FTP sites, and it will not connect to some sites due to all of the security they installed. You could try using default settings on security and turn off filters to see if that works. When windows updates IE it automatically changes to high security.

What kind of computer is this? Try clicking on the "Update Windows" icon in the control panel, this should bring up a default explorer window that shoudl try to connect to the internet. You can use that to either update your ie to repair the problem or download firefox to get yourself at least on the internet. Then you can try to actually run the update to a better ie version. You also may want to try in add/remove programs removing the IE explorer, this will not totally remove it, the update icon should still function, sounds like you may have issues with your drive or controller thou writing bad data to the sector thus corrupting the explorer itself. Try running a scandisk off the hard drive icon right click.

you may try using mozilla firefox as an alternative to ie. it's free and just as easy to use as ie. i myself have adheard many problems with ie and believe it to be programing conflicts. although microsoft and norton would have to resolve those issues.
