Question about Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 for PC

1 Answer

ITune files I got a USB with 16GB and I put all my songs onto it so that I could keep all my songs separate from my laptop ( like an external hard drive)but when I download from iTunes the songs save to my hard drive. How do I get iTunes to save straight onto the USB? I moved everything to do with iTunes onto the USB and still had plenty of room on it and deleted all my iTunes files from my laptop but it creates a file when I download a song.

If there is any option of setting a particular path (destination) for songs downloaded from iTunes, try setting that so it points to your USB. Hope this helps

How do I dowload music onto my computer and then burn it onto a cd?

You'll need to purchase music from an online site such as Itunes. You will also need a blank CDR. Once your music is loaded into Itunes it is as simple as clicking the burn to cd icon.

You can also use any CD burning software to burn any music files to dvd. Online Virus Removal and PC Help Contest

Moving the iTunes Music Files to a Different Hard Disk/Folder

If you are low on disk space in your iTunes folder then you can move these music files to another hard drive and keep your music library in tact without the need to create your music library again.

If you want to transfer your iTunes to an external USB hard drive, make sure that it is powered up and connected to your computer before opening iTunes.
Opened iTunes, click Edit and then Preferences. Click the Advanced tab.
Make sure the Keep iTunes Media folder organized checkbox is checked, and click Change.

Then select the location where you would like to move your files to. Click Select the Hard Drive and Folder or OK once you’re done.

The files will not move into their new positions by themselves –To do this – click File, Library and Organize Library. Check Consolidate Files.

When this process has been completed, go to the new location of your iTunes media and check the music files to see if they have migrated across correctly. Also play one or more tunes to test the music files.

The redundant iTunes music files can now be deleted from the original iTune location (C:\Documents and Settings\…..…\My Documents\My Music\iTunes). Delete everything from iTunes there except files titled iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml. These are still needed.

Recover autosync program after replacing my hard rive MEMRSNC000-5TV5-5A9P-JG90-G427-1B75

Not sure what you're referring to by an 'autosync program' but you can still access all the files on the old hard drive by putting it into an external caddy and plugging it into a usb port.

Any program that has an installer (like a setup.exe) can be reinstalled on the new operating system if you kept the installer, just double click it where it is in the old drive.

Disk full how do i delete

First delete the temporary files.
On unix you can use rm command in folder "/tmp" or "/var/tmp".
On windows, open Internet Explorer and go to menu Tools-->Internet Options and in "General" tab under "Browsing History" block delete the temporary files. This will give you some breathing space to work with other applications. Then open a file manager like "Windows Explorer" (for unix you can find similar applications). Look for the files which you don't need anymore and delete them. You can even move some of the big files onto your external drive connected to the system via usb cable.

Hope this helps.

I went and updated mp3 rocket like i normally do and after i finish installing the newest version i went to play the song in my itunes and the songs can not be located this has never happened before with...

I always turn off the add my songs to itunes, and i always move the songs to a sorting folder until i retag all the metadata before moving the songs to folders for each genre and then each artist etc. Nothing ever gets lost. Later i can add to itunes library or SAM Audio Broadcaster library (a disc jocky software). You never know if the mp3 rocket folder may be deleted during an uninstall and update. Also you can turn on a add to my itunes library upon download in the settings.

Just got new HP laptop and i'd like to transfer photo's and some files from my old HP desk top computer. What do I need to do this?

If the old computer still works, see the following. Otherwise look for the * for a solution further below. If the old desktop has Windows XP SP3 or newer, you can use the easy transfer wizard. It is included in Windows 7.

If the old desktop has a network connection, you can use an ethernet switch to create a network to share files. Once both computers recognize the switch, set up a network. If you have Windows 7 on one computer and do not have it on the other, do not use the Homegroup network. This may come up automatically; otherwise, use the Network Control Panel and add a network. Start the Easy Transfer Wizard and set this computer as the new computer. There may be an option to get the Transfer Wizard to copy and install to the old computer. Note the code for the Easy Transfer Wizard. Then install the Windows Easy Transfer Wizard on the old computer and launch it. Set this computer as the old computer. Use the code given in on the first computer to synch the transfer. Go through the settings to select the files to transfer and then start the transfer. Prepare to wait a while for the transfer.

If you can't use the Easy Transfer Wizard, set the hard drive on one computer to Share (click Computer (My Computer) and right click on the hard drive and select Properties. Then choose the Sharing tab. Enable Sharing by clicking the Share button.) On the other computer, map to a network drive and locate the Shared drive. Drag and drop the files to the new computer.

If you already have a network connection to a cable or DSL router, you will be asked about "New network found" and to define it. Make sure to make it the home network on both computers. (If you were directly connected to a cable or DSL modem, then you will again get this question. Note the switch will not let your computers talk to the outside network without a router though.)

(Alternatively, use a cross-over ethernet cable with the direct cable networking option.)

Other options: use the Microsoft Easy Transfer Wizard to put the photos and files on a DVD, external hard drive or flash drive with sufficient capacity. You may need to download and install this program to the old computer. For the optical drive option, you need a DVD-RW drive on the desktop and a DVD reader (minimum) on the laptop. (You can use an external optical drive, if you have one.) Another option is a USB file transfer device. Some of these come with the Easy Transfer Wizard on their install disc.

*If the old computer will not turn on, take the hard drive out of the computer and use a USB to IDE/SATA adapter. Follow the directions for the device and attach it to a USB port on the laptop. See if the drive mounts (is listed when you open the Computer File Explorer). Then drag and drop the files from one drive to another.

Note you may need to change the owner of the files on the new computer. (This doesn't apply with the Easy Transfer Wizard if the old user is made equivalent to the new user in the setup of the wizard.) To change the owner, right click on the file in the File Explorer and choose the Security tab. Select the Advanced settings.

I hope this helps.

I can't figure out how to transfer songs into my itunes .

1. Go to your iTunes Music folder on your computer.

Windows: (Documents & Settings > [your username] > )My Documents > My Music > iTunes > iTunes Music

Mac: [your home folder] > Music > iTunes > iTunes Music
2. Copy this entire folder to a CD, DVD or flash drive. You could try zipping it and emailing it if you only have a song or two, but anything beyond that, and it will be too large.
3. At your second (recipient) computer, insert the CD, DVD or flash drive.
4. Open iTunes
5. Choose File > Add to Library...
6. Select the iTunes Music folder in your recordable media in the dialog box
7. Give it a few minutes to import all the files
8. Done!
