Question about Verizon Communications HTC XV6800 Cell Phone - Blue
XV6800 from Verizon. Everything seems to be set correctly and incoming call notification is not a problem. It vibrates (when set to vibrate/ring) and the ring tone is a standard that came with the phone BUT it does not ring. Other system sounds work...

This phone allows you to independently set ring and vibrate modes. When you access "Call Vibrate" to set the mode, also visit the "Call Ringtone" menu to turn off the ringer.
You may want to leave the vibrate mode OFF and your ring tone ON and use the quick keys to switch between ring and vibrate. Two ways to do this, push and hold the # key to switch between normal mode (the settings you chose in "Call Ringtone" and "Call Vibrate") or use the side volume button to access the "Master Volume" and select "All Off", "Vibrate" or a ring tone volume.

Unusual problem. Check the settings to make sure theirs not a way to disable Caller ID. Give Verizon a call and see if they can find out whats going on.

I expect you have tried removing the battery, re-installing and starting up again. If that didn't work, contact Audiovox technical support - they can walk you through a "Hard reset". Be aware - you must use a sync system to save your contacts, calendar, etc. It will be wiped out with the hard reset. My phone did much the same thing and the reset solved it. Afterwards, I was able to retrieve my data from the sync (I used Microsoft Activsync- downloaded free from their website).
