L had the same problem. I had a problem song that I had to remove. Then I had to reboot the GPX back into the computer. It took me a couple of tries but I finally figured it out. When you first plug in your GPX it asks you if you want it to sync automatically I picked not to and it seems to work. I hope this helps you.

if it didn.t work then
Press the keyboard combination "Windows Key +R"
you will have run dialogue box
type in "services.msc"
in the window that appears look for "Program compatibility assistant" and then disable it.
now restart your computer and try installation

Ilo mp3 error

Make sure your OS is compatible with this player first - not compatible with Vista or Mac

If it is:
This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware.

The mp4 player keeps crashing my computer

If your PC is running Windows Vista, don't even think about conencting it until you get the firmware upgrade for the device.

Triple Reset for GoGear:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player.

Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

Windows VISTA and it is sa9200/17

The verison of the Device Manager on the installation CD is not compatible with Vista. Grab the compatible version from www.usasupport.philips.com and enter in your model number SA9200/17 - on the next page click on "/17" instead of "/17B" -
on the next page, click on software and drivers; on the next page click on "Device/Firmware Manager" - this version is compatible with Vista

Computer does not recognize Gigabeat Device

the solution is simple. Simply Run both Gigabeat watcher and giga-room programs as administrator if u have windows vista.
How to do this :

Click on start in the taskbar at the bottom right of your screen,
then click on all programs,
then click on the Toshiba Gigaroom Folder,
then right click Gigabeat watcher and click on "Run as Administrator"
then right click "Gigaroom" and click on Run as Administrator

and then look in the bottom right of the taskbar, the little Gigabeat watcher symbol should be there with a green square instead of grey. If its green then it means Vista has recognised your gigabeat and u can now transfer music to it via gigaroom. i hope this helps people as i was on the verge of buying XP myself again... Peace all and HAPPY GIGABEATIN!
