Did you check any of the security settings that adobe or the e-mail program might have. I'm thinking since it sees adobe as a printer it might be doing this for security purposes

Ihad a tech send an e-mail, w/an attachment for user manual, and can't get it to download it or anything else

Your email application may not be able to handle attachments so open your email in a web-browser window and open and read the attachment from there. If it is in PDF format you should be able to save the attachment to your tablet, and use Adobe PDF reader to open it. If you don't have adobe acrobat reader, login to the Play store and install it.

What do I have to do to open up my email attachments??

In most cases you can click on the attachment name. However you will need to ensure you have a program installed capable of opening the attachment. For example if someone sends you a file with extension of .pdf you will need adobe reader. If someone sends you a .xls you will need microsoft office.
These programs do not usually come pre-installed on your computer.
You can get adobe reader from http://www.adobe.com
And microsoft office is available at most computer stores.

If you receive an error that the attachment has been removed or blocked it may be a format the email provider does not allow.
Please provide more details or ask further questions if needed.

Had windows 7 reinstalled and Adobe, but can't get document attachment to open in emails. it opens up on windows media center how do i get it to open with Adobe instead

Save the file to your desktop first. Then right click and select open with. Find the program you want to open the attachment with and select 'always use this program for this type of file'. That will reset the file association and you will then be able to open them from your email in the future.

I don't know if I need to download Adobe Reader. What is it for? I use my computer mainly for emails.

If you download and install Adobe Reader, you can see .PDF files like insurance cards for your automobile for instance. Emails don't require .pdf file capability, usually, but traditional printed documents available online are usually put into the .pdf file format.

I can print and copy, but when I scan to PC /pdf/e-mail it will not do anything despite the little window showing what I am on. Toy is brand new and right software was installed from disc onto Compac desk...

You must associate that function, PDF, Mail, with the right program, also of course you must have the program installed too. Of course you can also get say adobe professional and this allows you to scan from Adobe. Or use Word and scan it in to that, and save it (print it) as a PDF, or get DoPDF, this will, "Print" any image to PDF. As for email, simply open your email, & scan whatever whatever you want, and "attach it" to the email, and browse to where it is and select it.

Copy and paste document

Adobe is a readonly program. There is an Adobe read/write program but very expensive. Check with your IT department to see if they can zip the program to your home computer, if not, any document you want to edit needs to be sent as an attachment in the MS extention you will be using; ie: .doc, .exl, etc.
Save the document on your desktop, with another name and email it to your office. Don't make the changes without changing the name, the changes will not be saved to the original attachment.

Problem in opening from adobe reader 7.0

WELL, FOR ONE THING, ADOBE 7.0 IS A VERY OLD PROGRAM SINCE ADOBE HAS RELEASED ADOBE 9.0. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU UPGRADE YOUR SOFTWARE TO THE LATEST VERSION OF ADOBE AND SEE IF THIS DOESN'T SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM. I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY " AN ATTACHMENT FROM OUTLOOK WEB ACCESS " IF YOU COULD EXPLAIN THIS BETTER I MIGHT HAVE ADDITIONAL IMFORMATION. PLEASE REPLY TO: ARCLIGHT1217. THANKS!
