I have a ford fiesta zetec on a 53 reg and my stereo wont work as i need a code. i have a 4500 RDS E.O.N cd player

Hi,

There is no standardised code for the 4500 RDS unit. Each code is completely unique and tied to the serial number of the radio itself. To get the serial you will need to remove the radio from the dash to find it on a label on the back or you may be lucky - see below. This serial then needs to be decoded to find the code you need to enter into the radio.

As you have a 4500 unit you may be lucky and not have to remove the radio to get the serial. The Ford 4500 RDS Unit found in late model Fiestas for example does not need to be removed from the vehicle to obtain the serial number. Simply turn on the radio, hold down button 6 and then press button 2. The serial number will be displayed on the screen.

Once you have the serial go to this site enter the serial details and they will email you back the code for a small fee. Simple!!

Hope it helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

HI, IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN GET A STUCK CD FROM MY FIESTA 4500 RDS RADIO. THE CD PLAYS BUT WILL NOT EJECT. THANKS

you can try disconnecting your battery for an hour or so and see if the microprocessor in the cd mech resets itself. i won't say for sure it will work, but sometimes the microprocessor locks up or develops a glitch. the best way to reset it is to disconnect power to the radio. if you can get the radio out and disconnect the wire harness that will be better, but disconnecting the battery works just as good.

I wish to remove two stuck cds from 4500 RDS EON without damaging the fascia.I have a 2003 Zetec 1.4 Fiesta. Isee no visible means of removing the unit, though this must be possible.

Try teasing the jammed CDs  out (through the slot in the front) using an old CD or credit card.

Alternatively the player will have to be removed from the dashboard and the cover taken off in order to gain access to the jammed CDs

Select the correct radio model from this free list of Ford radio removal instructions
