I've tried to line up the red and blue multipoint, but for some reason it will not line up straight.

Sounds like you have a ghosting issue. that means its not tuned in properly. i also had the same problem before. it happens to certain flat screen tvs. try tuning in on a different station or channel example av or tv1 or tv2

Ok so i have the Mitsubishi WS-55807 TV and when i turn it on in the corners and around the screan the color gets distorted showing the same image twice or 3 times like its projection lights are off...

If you're good at soldering, Part #s STK392-570 may both be bad. If you tap on it and it works. Pull out the board with the 2 chips, (mark all the connectors) with the TV off. Replace these. You can find them on Ebay (at least to see what they look like). First go to the spot under the board where both of them are and resolder each pin avoiding bridges. Also resolder all the spots that you see the plugs you labeled at. With the TV on using one hand, with one hand in your pocket, carefully physically feel the metal heat sink the parts are connected to. If they are cold, you probably have bad fuses. They are usually beige. With the T.V. off and a meter, check these for continuity.

if your picture looks 3d it is convergence problem.

This is a do it yourself repair if you have some skill.

I will tell you what you need and have start to finish, step by step instructions for this repair along with photos, and source for parts needed(parts cost will be under 30 dollars).

The color is all mixed up

Go into the customer menu and select convergence--go to advanced(instructions will be on screen).

If it looks 3D and will not adjust you have a convergence circuit problem.

IF THIS IS THE CASE confirm actual model number of set; I HAVE START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONVERGENCE REPAIR IN THIS MODEL.

IT is a do it yourself fix-tells everything you need and how to do it.

If something else--try to describe it for me. I will attach photo of typical convergence problem for you here.

If this helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Philips tv 27PT6441/37 horizontal lines about 3in wide on top of the screen.

I'm having the same issue with this TV! From the top of the screen to about two/three inches below there are thousands of horizontal lines with a whitish tinge which seem to be reflecting what is just below these lines! I’ve never seen this issue on any TV ever! From what I am seeing now is that many people are having this issue and more! We should put a class action lawsuit against them! If anyone knows anything, please post the info. Many tech forums are loaded with issues for these TV’s but this issue seems to be prominent!

My mom had two Phillips TV’s; one just under two years, and the other just under a year and Phillips refused to fix either without a large expenditure on her behalf. She told me never to buy Phillips and I should have listened. Phillips used to be a great company so I don’t really know what has happened? This was a TV for my Grandmother and it wasn't at a bad price not to mention the picture was great albeit severely over scanned.

As for her TV, we had it about two weeks over a year and Phillips said there was nothing they could do! They said they would pay for the cost to replace the tube if I took it to one of their dealers but they said the cost to bring it there and repair would fall on me! Also if the issue was not related to the tube I would have to pay everything OOP! The lady laughed on the phone and said even if it had been under six months or under a year they would still only pay to fix the parts and everything else would cost me! WTF?

The moral of the story is NEVER BUY PHILLPS/MAGNOVOX EVER! You might be getting the TV deal of the century but it is not worth it in the long run. I originally thought my mom was nuts, but now looking back considering the issues others are having, and realizing the **** poor way Phillips support deals with ALL problems, they’re simply not worth the money or trouble. I WILL NEVER buy another Phillips, Magnavox, or Funai product ever again, whether it is a TV, clock, DVD player, and/or ANY electronic device! If you do you HAVE BEEN WARNED and WILL BE SORRY!
