Display flickers or doesn't work

I have a sanyo drw-500 and recently the display light started flickering then just didnt work at all. it started when i turned it on and the loading display started flickering really bad then it went out all together, but only when i play a movie or record, the clock works but then it will start flickering. i unplug it and all seems to work fine for a few minutes then it starts all over again. it still records fine but no display on the machine. any thoughts on this.

Have you set the Sanyo to "antenna" or to "cable" ?
If you've tried one setting, try the other.

Lights flickering ON 1994 CHEVY K1500. Just hooked an amplifier up and headlights are flickering @ night. The amp is not powerful @ all so I didnt think i needed a capacitor

If you're running it to the battery post directly its creating a strain-you'll need a power distribution block. Also consider a bigger body ground wire/cable. If this doesn't help, you will need a capacitor.

Hi..i am using compaq presario cq 40 and screen is flickering.i had it checked and they told me lcd is the problem but they didnt even bother to check.they just turned it on and they told me that i have to...

When it flickers, can you still see the text when the screen goes dark?
May have to use a bright flashlight set right on the display to see
the text on the screen beside where the light sits.
That will tell you if it's the backlight.

You can also look at a grazing angle into one of the edges to see if the
backlight is flickering when the display does.
When it's cold, does it start with a slight pinkish color? That can be
a sign of backlight going bad.
Anything interesting happen when you flex the cable by moving the screen?

I'm not saying it's impossible, but I've never seen software cause
consistent screen flicker. And if the vga port doesn't flicker, sw is
even less likely the problem.

If you bet the odds, you'd bet on a bad display cable.
Won't hurt to try replugging it.

If that doesn't help, then your monitor may be dying....

Record mode doesn't work. Information is disrupted. play back is fine have not tried to fix

It could have some garbage, in the processor do to a small power surge, and if you leave it unplug for 40Min., from the wall, it should reset back to normal.
