Question about Dryers

2 Answers

I have a Whirlpool GEW9200LWO Electric Dryer. A couple of weeks ago it started throwing the breaker about 10 minutes into the cycle. I spoke with a repairman and he suggested that I have the breaker replaced. I did, now when I try to start the dryer there is a click and it the censor light comes on and thats it

My whirlpool dryer is not turning on when i try

Can you be more specific? Is it gas or electric? I don't want to patronize, but are you sure the breaker didn't trip? Does it make any kind of noise at all? Are there any kind of smells like electrical burning smell? A couple of things could cause your problem. You could have a know between cycles. the start switch could be bad or you just may not have any power. Be a little more specific please

Dryer is flipping breaker after 10 minutes into dry cycle.

You have a weak circuit breaker . Should be a 30 amp or higher . If you have access to an amp meter , split the dryer cord , separating the 3 wires (do not remove the insulation ) . If you have a black round cord ( 4 prong ) , carefully slice into and remove the black insulation in a small portion only . Check the amps on both outer wires while running dryer . Make sure the amps being pulled are lower than the circuit breaker amps . On a black cord , test the black wire and the red wire amps . If the dryer has a short , it would not run for 10 min and then throw breaker . It would be almost imediate . A bad breaker will gradually get hot and then flip , but check the dryer amps anyway to be sure .

Have a whirlpool mod len2000k01 I push the start button and nothing happens. About a week or two ago the dryer tripped the braker a couple of time but no other problems.

You may have a bad breaker. It is possible that the breaker is weak as indicated by the past two times you had to reset it. You need to ck voltage at the dryer first with a voltmeter. If no or low voltage is present the breaker may need to be changed. They do go bad!

Whirlpool Dryer stopped mid cycle and won't start again

This sounds as if the internal fuse has blown. I am assuming you have checked the breakers as well. The starter switch might be bad.
