Question about JVC GR-SXM920 Camcorder
SOURCE: JVC Error Code 02 Safeguard Mode
Brendon, The supply side tape guide can jump out of its track and cause the mechanism to lock up. The load motor is trying to load the tape but cannot, so the load motor driver "times out" and displays the E02 error you're seeing. If you can get to it, try reseating the guide into its track, be careful not to scratch or touch the drum assy located right near the guide track. Good Luck, I hope you can resolve the problem. HI SIR the fault is caused either by the take up or supply reel in the camera they are not rotating when the tape is inserted.maybe A defective tape or hung reel brake can cause this issue.or maybe a bad loosen guide of the tape path is lame , Try replacing the tape, if this does not resolve the problem you may need to seek professional service to have the reels checked. thanx and plz try to rate and remember i am here just to help u thx

You need a video capture card that supports analog inputs. Connect the video and audio out jacks from the camera to the computer. You will need some sort of software also. The Movie Maker software that comes with Windows XP would work.
The little cord that came with the camera will not transfer the video.

Did your battery came with a small, short cable? If yes:
- turn off the camera
- plug the cable in the camera but DO NOT attache the battery to the camera
- turn on the camera
- if the camera is working, than the battery is working.
- tape off with electrical tape the battery terminals - all of them. Now you can attach the battery to the camera.

Do a search of this problem and you will ind that every JVC owner is having the same problem. I finally got mine "reset" by powering the unit on in payback mode while holding down the "play" button. Then, turn it back off and power it on in the camera mode while holding down the "rec" button. This seems to have reset it and I've not had anymore issues SO FAR!
Good luck with it.
