Check and replace all the electrolytic capacitors at its vertical scan output section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
If the problem is with its picture linearity [Vertical], you have to enter its service mode to correct it. It is best to replace all the electrolytic capacitors [5 or 6] of it, at the vertical scan output circuit, before doing any adjustments, because, if there is any of it is damaged, the fault to this kind can occur too. After replacing it, just switch ON the set, and check the picture linearity is correct. If not, enter its service mode, and adjust the vertical picture linearity. You may have a component failing in the red drive stage possibly the blue as well or even the quadrature stage. A can of cold shot should help narrow the search considerably. It is also possible the red and blue projection tubes are nearing the end of their service life as well. If you have the means to test the tubes themselves, check the red and blue tubes for gas.
The Height adjustment is off... look in the back of the TV set, it has some knobs in the back, one should be vert.lin for Vertical Linearity adjustment, and there is another call Vert.Hgt. for Vertical Height adjustment. try adjusting the Vertical Height first with someone watching in the front of the big TV to see if the top comes back into view, you might have to adjust the knob very slowly one way then the other way, to make this adjustment. If it doesnot adjust take it to a TV shop to get it repaired.
hi! he might have adjusted the vertical hold and height including the linearity. normally on the board you would see a trimmer resistor with a label v-hold this is to stop the rolling, v- height for the size of the picture. and linearity for the evenness of the picture from top to bottom.
you need to replace or have professional convergence amplifiiers. If know how to desolder and solder you could repair yourself or in home professional tv repairperson will cost you $275-$400. The convergence adjustments via remote are half the battle the IC's loose clarity over time.
