Question about Canon CD-4050 Path-Through Scanner

1 Answer

Disk to Disk Copy Returns Corrupt Data.

We have a Canon cd4050 and we have approximately 100 Disks that have identical Cabinet/Folder Structures. Each Disk has been created from a single template and loaded with a specific client?s information. In other words, each of our 100 clients gets their own disk that we archive their information on. When I try to Copy a Disk and do a Disk to Disk Copy the information on the Clone Disk doesn?t match the Master Disk. In fact the Cloned Disk will include some of the Master disk files and some files from the Disks of other clients. This has happened with every disk I?ve tried to copy (which equals to approximately 10 disks). I?ve had a Tech Support person, from the company we purchased the unit, look at it and he states that there is a glitch in the system and there is nothing they can do about it. Does anyone know what might be causing this problem and if there is a way to fix it?

My sandisk u3 2gb micro cruzer doenst work at school but it works at home. why?

The school computers may least require foreign devices to be introduced either that may conpromise educational materials or damage computer structures. Usually the school computr structures least require introducing resources from elsewhere to achiev experices. Enquire from the school autorities about the measn to achieving productivy with the resources already established or make mention of materials that contribute toward achieving success. An alternative arrangement is possible to make possible accessing the USB device that may contain school material like assigment made at home. The situations where devices are impeded due to compartibility may involve computer structures. For example, sundisk USB are incompartible with computers. USB disks usually have varing compartibilities also know as versitilty. The more versitle device USBs are capable of several functions. Ocne in retail enquire about the extensive feature availble prior to acquring disk media. Usualy available are data material mediums or versatile resource management disk devices. Observe the purposes of the disk media where compartibility to computer devices is one aspect. Also, the devices usefullness would include several either as educational or else type features least achievable within certain computer structures.

Model: HDD2H,does not detect the drive, took out the drive from caddy and plugged it in the PC, shows RAW file system. One of them can be detected by bios but says 0MB,second drive shows as 500GB. Dont know...

If it was a "striped" RAID setup, then "half" of each file on the disk-drive has been lost,
including half of each entry in the Table-Of-Contents, when you try to "browse" either disk-drive.
Both disks will be "nonsensical".

If it was a "mirrored" RAID setup, then one disk is probably 100% "good", and one disk is probably 100% "bad", i.e., you now have just ONE copy of each file, rather than having TWO identical copies. Buy a new 500GB (or larger) disk-drive, and use the RAID-software to "rebuild" the "mirroring" (by copying everything from the "good" disk to the "empty" disk) setup.

I have a lsass.exe error message and netbook keeps restarting, it wont boot in safe mode or anything and I have no cd drive either. Please help...

lsass.exe is certainly a virus issue, the actual process isnt really a virus but viruses hijack the process for their own nefarious reasons.
You only have two options really, 1) use a boot disk antivirus (search google for avg boot cd) and then use the restore disks to try and repair the system file (copy the one off the restore disk to replace the corrupt one on your system)
2) Use your restore disks / another installation disk to build a new operating system.

Just remember if you have data on the drive to take it out to get your data off first. Personally I'd take your drive out and put a new drive in, then build a new OS on the new drive, nice clean and fast, then put your data onto it.

Rapid Array of Independent Disks

RAID logically combines several identical disk-drives for better performance or for better reliability.

For better performance, one RAID configuration "stripes" the data, i.e., when you write a block of data, the block is split into "stripes", and each stripe is written to a different disk-drive.
Since each stripe is smaller than the whole block, it is faster to transfer the data in "parallel".

For better reliability, another RAID configuration writes each block of data _identically_ to multiple disk-drives. Thus, if one disk-drive fails, your data still exists on the other disk-drives.
You can then replace the "bad" disk in the array, and use software to "rebuild" this "mirroring" of your data, by copying all the data from one of the "good" disks onto the "new" disk.

So, in your case, one of the disks in your array is failing. Identify it. Replace it. Rebuild your array.

I have an external Diablo Tek usb floppy drive connected to my windows 7 premium computer. I hae copied files onto 3.5 disks using windows xp but when i try to copy them onto my windows 7 computer it will...

Can you copy them to another computer? More than likely, they actually are corrupt. The thing that made floppy disks unreliable long term is that they are subject to magnetic fields. Any magnetic field will corrupt the data stored on them. And electrical current produces magnetic fields. So, if you stored the disks near any electricity, they have become corrupt. In a handbag with a cellphone, on top of a computer or monitor, etc. get the idea. They will last forever if stored properly...but most poeple don't. I have some 10 years old (and I don't even have a drive for them anymore) and I not too long ago pulled my resume off one of them..but if not handled exacly right, they crash. Let me know if you think this is your problem, or if you are certain you stored them correctly and really think it is something else we'll look deeper.

Transfering mail setup from Windows xp to a windos vista machine with EasySuite

I'm not 100% sure about vista because I hate it but I can help you copy all of your outlook express data to a CD\DVD disk & your address book. Your network settings for express account is a phone call to your ISP.
If vista's explorer is set up like XP you should be able to copy your data into outlook express.
Open all these folders on you XP system.
User name\Application Data\Identities\{xxxxxxx}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
Copy the Outlook Express folder to your CD.
User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book. Copy Address Book folder.
Making sure you have everything.
Open, User name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{xxxxxxx}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
Compair the two Outlook Express folder files. CD will not allow copy of same named folder.
If Vista's lay out is the same as XP than copy Outlook Express folder to Vista.
Suggest you have your current ISP setting /account setup before copying to Vista

Let me know if this works for you!
Good Luck & Kind Regards.
