How to reboot a compaq nc6000 - HP Compaq nc6000 Notebook

You can download the video and device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windowsdrivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download thedrivers: -

Switch On your PC/ Laptop and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->Click 'System Restore'

A 'System Restore' window will appear.

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next

Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

Note: It is better if you could remember from which date you are facing the issue, try to select a date prior to that date.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot your problem should be resolved.

there are no schematics availlable However the fan plug wiring when the laptop is facing you is: left to right...red.white,black,yellow

try taking the battery out completely and see if the laptop runs of the main power from the outlet, if so then the battery may have a bad cell in it and would need to be replaced.

my nc6000have the same problem. if i press the keyboard when i turn it on it start but stop after 10 minutes !!!
