Garmin Nuvi 360 dented 1/2" dent in touchscreen - fixable?

I've seen you fix many a Garmin issue on FixYa. I was wondering if there was any fix to a dent in a touchscreen. Ever since the dent occured the gps is unusable since it thinks that that spot on the screen is always being touched so it cycles through the screens.

I can't figure out how to open the unit and see if it's possible to un-dent the screen.

Thanks again!

I have a similar issue with a different GPS NAV unit. Mine got a small dimple in an area of the screen that makes it constantly "touch" that point and it always changes screens and won't stay on the main screen. You can barely even notice the dimple unless you hit it with the light at just the right angle. I tried to gently and cautiously warm up the screen and attempt to 'pull' the dent up via suction, but that did not work and I did not want to try any hotter or harder due to risj of damage. Aside from the dimple everything is fine. Grrr

I dont leave the Garmin in the car for fear of it being stolen (first model was stolen). So I put the Garmin in my purse which then got a quarter stuck in the card slot. Is this fixable?

Yes, but most likely the unit will need to be dissassembled. I would not use the unit with the coin inside as it can short out power leads that power the SD card. It may damage your Nuvi. I have fixed this problem before.

Nuvi charger voltages for 360 vs. 2xx/7xx

They are compatible. There is no difference. They all take +12VDC and convert to +5VDC. The pin out of the mini-USB is the same. This is a standard port on all Garmin units.

My garmin nuvi 350 displays "enabling Bluetooth" and will not move . What should I do

A Nuvi 350 does not have bluetooth capability. Do you mean Nuvi 360? If it is a 350, then the firmware is corrupted or was flashed with the wrong firmware.

My garmin nuvi 670 touch screen is not calibrated

Have you tried using the screen calibration command? Press the Wrench symbol, then the Display symbol and then Calibrate screen. Press the dots as it tells you to and you should now have a calibrated touchscreen.

Touchscreen not working

You could try resetting the device by:

1. Place your thumb nail in the groove located under the Garmin logo on the face plate.
2. Gently pull off the faceplate.
3. Press the reset button
4. Turn the unit back on

If that still doesn't take care of it then you can try to contact Garmin to see if they have a replacement touch screen or if they can repair it, but the product is discontinued.
