I just did it an hour ago. It took about 20 minutes to figure it out.
I laid the monitor on a furniture pad to keep from scratching the face.
1. Remove the three screws from the bottom of the back.
2. Insert a thin bladed screwdriver in the bottom slot near one of the bottom corners. The back is held in place by some clever latches that were designed to snap together, never to unsnap again. I work a pair of screwdrivers around the bottom and then up the sides and finally got it loose at the top.
3. Carefully lift the small clip that holds the small ribbon cable connecting the "buttons" to the main unit.
4. I assume you're trying to get to the capacitors inside so, carefully disconnect the small cables by squeezing the plug to release the clip.
5. Remove all of those nice little screws that hold the metal parts to the back.

Good luck! By the way, I use an empty egg container (with the compartments numbered) to place the small parts in while I'm disassembling. When I'm ready to rebuild, I assemble the parts in the reverse order that I put them in the container.

I have 2 gateway t series laptops..... they both have a black sreen ...have to use external moniters

If you are able to use an external monitor then the video card in the laptop is working perfectly. The monitors built in however have failed. The most common situation is that the lamps burnt out, but it is possible that the wire that connects to the main board has been damaged from opening and closing the lid.
You could search the internet for a replacement monitor, but I would recommend one that has the casing and everything. It is extremely troublesome to remove the casing and change out just the panel.
Often you can find an identical model laptop on ebay that has a working monitor but other component failure and then you can either swap your components or just the monitors, whichever is easiest.

I would like to replace the backlight bulb on my gateway fpd2275w tft lcd monitor. how do i remove the back (?) case

Very very carefully! or you will break the ribbon cable and it is very hard to put the cable back in the socket. See my pictures here:

It will more likely to have bad caps, but if you want to change the CCFL assemblies, you will ahev to take the LCD panel apart which very hard to do also unless you have done one before.
Check for lamps.

My FPD2275W LCD Monitor will only lit up solid white light. I have turned it off, unplugged it and everything else I can think of. It didn't how any signs of a problem yesterday, just all the sudden today...

Solid white meas the T-CON board is not getting the signals or 5vdc feeding it from the logic board or it has blown fuse.
Check all the caps in the power supply and on the logic board first, be warning, this case is real hard to open and MUST BE REAL CAREFULE WHEN SEPARATING THE FRONT BEZEL FOR THE BACK CASE!

Monitor goes blank.

Did you swap the monitors to see if the problem follows or stays at the same video output port since you have dual monitors set up? Need verify before opening up the monitor.

Sceptre X7G Naga VI dissaembly.

I have a bad power supply in mine as well. trick to opening it was popping off the silver caps on the base to remove the base. then using 2 bladed screwdrivers carefully pry the front plastic bezel off the back. there is no glue just locking tabs.

I got a fpd 2275 gateway 22" lcd monitor there is no power button on it

To make sure that the monitors power is correctly connected, check the power button on the front of the monitor it should be glowing purple. If the purple button is not visible check the power connection.
