The WEP code is the security code required for a wireless computer to connect to the router. The code is contained in the router, which has a Web-based setup page. To access the page, open Internet Explorer and type in "192.168.1.1" for the URL. You do not need "HTTP" or "WWW", etc. Just the numbers and periods. This should bring up the sign-on screen for the router. The default values are the User name is left blank and the Password is "Admin". If the default values have been changed and you do not know them, the router will have to be reset to default values. If it works, this will bring up the setup page. At the setup page select the "Wireless" tab and then the "Wireless Security" tab. you should then be able to see your WEP code on the "Key 1" line. I have play station 3 how should it show up when checking should it be under a WEP Key I do not understand how all this works I just want to make sure everything is done right so I don't have

The PS3 has 2 different ways it can connect. The first, and most reccomended, is by a ethernet cord to your router directly. The second, is by wifi. When you connect wifi, you go to network settings, it will suggest wired but you can continue with wifi connection, then select "wireless". It will ask you to auto scan, or manually put in the SSID. Select "Auto" then when your router info shows up, it will ask for the security info (WEP) this is where you enter the security code that you use for all of your devices that use the wireless connection. If the key is correct, it will ask you to test your connection. Everything is automatic from there.

What is wep"? on wifi

the devices like laptops and tablets connect to the wi fi router through a number of connection types. Some are direct and some are secured. The secured connections require a code that is set up during the configuration of the wireless network router. One type of secure connection uses the WEP code. (wired equivalent privacy) . If your device is asking for a wep code then the router has been set up to ask for this code. You will need to find out what the code is. If you are not the owner of the router then you need to ask the owner. If you are the owner and have forgotten the password then you could factory reset the router and use the default setting. But this is risky as anyone can connect to the network around your place.

HOW TO SET WIRLESS PASSWORD ??

>first, access your linksys' default gateway by typing 192.168.1.1 on you browser's address bar
>Graphical User Interface (GUI) will be accessed
>Now it will ask you to login by default the Linksys routers uses either "admin" as username and "password" as the password or leave the username blank and type "admin" as password. Not unless you have setup a logon security for your router's configuration. After logging into the router's configuration, go to SECURITY tab, if your wireless connection does ask for a username and password for you to connect then you need to ask your Internet Service Provider (ISP) what type of security is compatible with your service will it be WEP,WEP Shared, WPA2 etc...

Now, if you select WEP the password is plainly a 10-digit code, if it's other than WEP then the wireless password has to be a 16-digit Alpha-Numeric code...

Error Code 51330 Unable to connect to internet. Choose Internet settings and then confirm your connection, We do this it test and loops back to same code!!!!

Error Code: 51330 This error code usually indicates a problem relating to wireless security. Please try the following troubleshooting:
  1. Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router?
    1. Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance)
    2. Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key.
    3. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
    4. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F.
    5. The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters).
    6. If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot.
    7. If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types:
      • WPA - PSK (TKIP)
      • WPA - PSK (AES)
      • WPA2 - PSK (AES)

  2. If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering:
    1. From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model).
    2. If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings).
    3. If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

  3. Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router.
    1. Click here to go to our Wireless Router lookup page.
    2. Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer.
    3. Click on your router's model number, if available.
    4. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing settings described in the "special notes."

  4. Try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP configuration settings. To access these settings:
    1. On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run."
    2. Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window.
    3. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.

  5. Power cycle your router and modem by unplugging them both from the wall. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then turn on the router. Try to connect the Wii console online and test for proper response.

what is your router? do you know the gateway of your router?

1. Know what is your gateway by using a pc that is online hardwire to your router
> On that pc- check your gateway by doing ipconfig- your DG is your gateway
2. Then access the configuration page of your router- ex. 192.168.1.1
> Use your browser and type your gateway there.
> It will ask for username and password. You should know that.
3. When your inside your router's configuration page-look for wireless tab, then look for wireless security- you should be able to see there your wep key.
4. Finally type in that wep key on your toshiba laptop. It might ask you to confirm, so type it twice. =)
