The WEP code is the security code required for a wireless computer to connect to the router. The code is contained in the router, which has a Web-based setup page. To access the page, open Internet Explorer and type in "192.168.1.1" for the URL. You do not need "HTTP" or "WWW", etc. Just the numbers and periods. This should bring up the sign-on screen for the router. The default values are the User name is left blank and the Password is "Admin". If the default values have been changed and you do not know them, the router will have to be reset to default values. If it works, this will bring up the setup page. At the setup page select the "Wireless" tab and then the "Wireless Security" tab. you should then be able to see your WEP code on the "Key 1" line. Im trying to find my wep code, because i got a new laptop

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Setting for wireless d- link router for my laptop

WEP key is usually found on the back of the router or the side of the box the router came in. When the router is connected and you see there is a signal by the LED lights, click on the internet connection icon on the lower right of your screen. Select the proper wireless device to which you wish to connect. It will tell you that you need a WEP key. Enter the 10 digit code on the back of the router. If it asks for a 12 digit code, simply add two zeros to the beginning of the WEP key. Hope this helps!

Cannot connect to my D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G DI-624 wirelessly

In case like this one sometimes it is best to reset the password then try to connect each of the devices.

The D Link 6 series router where good but a little tempermental at times. Also you could check the Dlink site for new firmware as from time to time manufacturers make improvements even after the product has been to market.

Need to get laptop connected to wireless connection

The passphrase only means that there is a security enabled on that wireless network. You are correct, you need to know that passphrase for you to be able to successfully connect your laptop to that wireless network.

If you need more help on how to get this passphrase just let me know.

what is your router? do you know the gateway of your router?

1. Know what is your gateway by using a pc that is online hardwire to your router
> On that pc- check your gateway by doing ipconfig- your DG is your gateway
2. Then access the configuration page of your router- ex. 192.168.1.1
> Use your browser and type your gateway there.
> It will ask for username and password. You should know that.
3. When your inside your router's configuration page-look for wireless tab, then look for wireless security- you should be able to see there your wep key.
4. Finally type in that wep key on your toshiba laptop. It might ask you to confirm, so type it twice. =)

Wireless connection

It wants what is called key 1 of the wep code. You are probably putting in the password you used for wep. Look at the router config and see what the actual wep key is.
