Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HPSupport" or "Nvidia Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Video drivers. You can also try Driver Guide at:http://www.driverguide.com
You can try reseating your wireless card...it's 2 screws after you remove the Memory cover on bottom. HP has issue on motherboards that can cause this and has extended warranty on this model and others to 2 years.
The XP drivers for your laptop are available at the HP site http://www.hp.com/. Click on "Software & Driver Downloads" leftside near the bottom, enter your product "Pavilion dv9205us", click on "Microsoft Windows XP".
May I suggest that you download them now even if still running vista and then burn to a CD or copy to a flashdrive. That way when you have downgraded to XP, the drivers are readily available.
Hope this be of help/idea. Post back how things turns up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
