Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook

1 Answer

On turn-on, icons are highlighted in a rapid random order.

When I turn on the computer, icons are highlighted randomly and in rapid progression. If I can get past that, opened files within folders are rapidly highlighted in rapid progression and I can't get past that. Once when I went to open a program, various folders were opened (I noticed, for example, MyPictures for a split second) - again in rapid succession. But not the one I had actually selected. I also noticed a few days ago, that on pressing the d key, I got d and s on the screen. If I held down the d key, I would get a series of "s"s. This is now spread to other keys (I press g, for example, and get an endless series of "s"s. Are all these problems related and how do I solve them?

Went through the whole scanning process with the recommended program - to no avail. It did find four infected cookies, deleted them BUT, the problem remains. Thanks for trying.

Hi,

Try this,

1. Click combination of buttons on your keyboard Windows+R -> Type MSCONFIG -> OK -> Continue -> Go to Startup Tab in the System Configuration -> Uncheck "HP Quicktouch On Screen Display Item" -> Restart Your computer.

It disables the on screen display of the volume control.

The computer shutdown, thught it was the power cord. Ordered new one, does the same as old one. Belw the tough pad blue light blinks power cord plug in, and I can't turn it on.

1- Scanning computer to eliminate malwares, spywares and the viruses from your laptop.

2- Repairing and cleaning Windows registry.

These two tips are found to be very helpful to fix the laptop shutdown problem. Almost all the computer users surf internet which could result in viruses attacking your system. Some of these infections are really pesky and cause the machines to shutdown randomly.

The registry errors, however, are the internal errors and can become a cause of system crashes and freezes. The registry keys shall be in good health to keep a system perfect.

When I noticed my pc keeps shutting down everytime, I tested the Intel Software Partner, RegInOut to fix the random shutdown problem with my laptop.

Try going into control panel & find the mouse section. See if you can adjust the sensitivty down. You may have a program built in from acer to adjust this too. I reccomend turning off the tap feature on the mouse pad. When they get old they get real touchy. If turning the sensitivity down doesn't work, you can try & see if there's an updated driver or re-install the old one. If all else fails,it's time to head to ebay to find the touch pad.

Hmm give this method a try. Turn off computer remove AC power adapter. Remove the battery and press the power button for 30 seconds continuously. This removes the static from the system. This process is called as Power drain. This works in most of the cases. Good Luck !!!

Jumping cursor

This is a really common problem thats not actually a problem.
Go to trackpad settings and make sure tap to click is off.
Most laptops allow you to tap the track pad to act as a mouse button, try it go to an icon tap the trackpad youll see that the icon highlights as if you are actually left clicking.
When your typing the trackpad senses your arm or wrist occasionaly and thinks your tapping the mouse, thus moving the cursor.
So go into trackpad settings and turn off tap to click.
