Question about Epson Stylus DX4200 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printer stopped working claiming the jobs have been 'stopped' and giving no explanation.

My Epson Stylys DX4800 suddenly stopped working, indicating when I double clicked on the logo that it had 'stopped' the job. When I tried to 'resume' it seemed to be opening the printer connection but was unable to continue and again flagged up that the job had stopped'. I am unable to print, or to find an explanation for the printer's continued flagging up of 'stopped' when I try to print a job. I have tried restarting my computer, unplugging the USB and printer connection and re-connecting, re-installing the software via the internet website, all to no avail.

Hi Plug out the usb cable from the cpu. Try deleting the printers from the printers window(START, Printers and Faxes), uninstall the software. Power off the printer and unplug power adapter. After the printer has been deleted from the printer window, plug it back in and reconnect back to computer. Then try a new installation of the printer and software. The pending documents that have been stopped should now not be in the spooled documents.

What OS is running on your computer? Epson has the drivers/software available on their site: http://tech.epson.com.au/downloads/category.asp?sCategory=Multi_Functional&id=StylusTX410&SelOS=Y . Download and install the appropriate software before connecting the USB cable from the printer to the computer.

Note: the software from this site does not include any third-party software that may have been on the original CD.

My epson printer won't print or scan anything, and can't seem to find the fault. Warning light on the left hand side of the printer indicates that the ink is the problem, so i have checked the inks...


Most likely one of the ink cartridges is out of ink. The Epson printers I'm familiar with all will not print if any one of the cartridges is empty. Most likely it will tell you which cartridge needs replacing.

Your printer should have come with the Epson Scan software on the installation CD. If not you can download the software from Epson support.

hey wildd, Try unplugging the printer from the electrical source for "several" minutes. Shutdown the computer too. Turn on the printer, then turn on the computer. If that doesn't work go the whole mile. Uninstall all printers and software. download the latest drivers from Epson. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=23952&infoType=Overview This link is to the epson site and your machine. Download the drivers from here. Have you had any paper jams lately? Make sure there aren't any pieces of paper stuck or any other debris.
