There are files missing and might be corrupted on your windows that's making it fail to start. You may repair it by using your operating system disc. Choosing repair on your windows installer will not delete your saved files on your harddisk. So no worries about that. It will just repair the missing and corrupted files of your previous windows installation.

My sony vaio CR VGN-CR35G/R has reboot problem it gets hanged every time while rebooting.

Hi,

If your laptop has a Microsoft Windows operating system you can do the following.
  1. Boot up the computer
  2. Press the F8 key evey few seconds until you see a screen with options.
  3. Once you see the screen select the option which says "Last Known Good Configuration"
This will start up your laptop as it was the last time you manages to log in ok or your laptop started ok.

Please note that any drivers/software etc that you may have installed before the problem began may not work.

I hope this helps,
John

Sony vaio VGN FS 742W notebook Startup problem. When swithed ON,Vaio,Window XP screen appears and then window 'isass' appears & notebook swithes OFF automatically.Pl.advise solution for the above....

If Windows appears, and start booting, then the problem concerns the operative system and not the hardware.

That is good news, because all you need to do is using the original computer recovery disk, or finding a Windows setup disk to reinstall Windows.

To reinstall Windows, start the computer with the Recovery Disk or Windows Disk inside and chose Boot from CD when asked, then follow instructions.

Regards.

I have sony vaio VGN-AX580G-when I turn it on, it says it failed load windows. Im then given the otion to choose safe mode, safe mode with networking, or safe mode with command prompt. All three take me...

If you have the recovery disk(s) shut the computer off and boot from the cd. Try repairing the installation first. You may need to re-install Windows, meaning any data on the machine will be lost. Good luck.

Laptop Won't Boot

Hi,

Vaios are prone to faulty Ram ( memory Slots ) The only suggestion i can offer.
Is to remove and re-seat the CPU. this ocassionally solves the problem. if the laptops been dropped or banged. the cpu may have worked loose. but you,ll be looking at either ram or processor. failing this you can assume that theres a motherboard fault.

Thankyou For using Fixya.
