Question about Dell 5100cn Laser Printer

How to release the paper jam on printer DELL 5100cn??

We did follow the instructions, but it seems like is stuck on the printer, we can't get them out. please help thanks

First remove ink cartridge from printer.then check power suply is off.then open the front door then pull down 2 spring then check there is not any paper jam.
also check in front side there is not any paper jam.if jam thehn pull softly u casn do it man.

Error 077-900, what does that mean?


this error indicate paper jam at registration unit, to clean:

1. remove paper tray
2. open fron cover
3. remove jammed paper gently without tearing it
4. check if there are any creased paper sheets in tray, remove if any
5. check paper path if free from debris and any leftover paper tears/fragments
6. close front cover
7. insert back paper tray

If this advice did not solve your problem, please do not hesitate to follow this thread and I will forward further procedure how to check sensor and path.

Dell 922 saying there is a paper jam


First try this. Turn off the printer, remove all the cartridges, drum, open all the doors and remove all the trays. Now verify that there's no actual paper jam by exploring through the inside of the printer. You can use a blower to blow any dust or pieces of paper, etc.. from the printer. Now use the manual feed and put in thicker paper several times (push in and pull out). Again reinstall and reconnect every components and boot the printer. If the actual printer's paper sensor isn't broken or stuck or twisted, this will definitely clear the paper jam message on the printer.

If the problem persists, please download this small text file and follow the instructions (click here). Open the link, click "Download Now" button, wait for 20 seconds and again click "Download File Now" link and read the instructions and follow step by step.

Where is the manual paper feeder tray?


The manual feeder is located at 4 on this webpage. I would say its in the front. but a picture is a lot better. then how I would describe it.

PAPER JAM EVERY THIRD COPY OR SO, I HAVE TO OPEN REAR COVER TO REMOVE PAPER JAM. LOOKS LIKE ROLLERS ARE CUMBLING UP THE PAPER

regarding issue/s with paper jam, you may do the following procedure

-Locate and slowly pull out the stuck paper from the Dell™ inkjet printer.
-Locate and Remove Any Obstructions Inside the Printer and Input Tray
-Clear Any Stuck Paper From the Auto Document Feeder (ADF)
-Adjust the Printer Paper Guides
-Extend the front paper support on the printer.
-Try a Different Piece of Paper in the Printer
-Reseat the Dell Printer Power Adapter
-Try a Different Type of Print Media

If all else fails you need to Replace the printer.

pull down spring then pull the paper slowly.
pull paper from both corner of paper very sofly .

Paper jam followed by printing pics


just check to see if there is any obstructions were the paper is going through, unplug printer cables, press power button for 20 seconds without any cables connected, it will refresh printer memory, connect cables back,try photocopy, if nogo, printer fualty

Hi,

Paper jams can be real or false. The all-in-one may report a paper jam when there is not any jammed paper, however, the solution to a real paper jam or a false paper jam is the same. Up-grading the printer firmware could also fix this kind of issue, however I would appreciate if you try the steps below before you up-grade the printer firmware.
To fix the paper Jam errors please try the following steps:
1. Confirm that no foreign materials are inside the machine.
2. Confirm that usable paper is set.
3. Confirm that the paper is set properly.
4. Confirm that recommended paper is used, and the number of sheets set does not exceed the required limit.
5. Disconnect the printer power cord as well as the printer cable form the printer.
6. Turn the printer upside down and shake the printer in order to remove any obstacle which is stuck inside the printer causing the paper jam error.
Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges and check carefully if there is any small piece of paper which is stuck inside, if so carefully remove it.
7. Disconnect the printer power cord and press and hold the power button on the printer for about 15 to 20 seconds( this will release the flee power) and reconnect the printer and check.

If the above mentioned steps do not fix the issue please up-grade the printer firmware form the Support.dell.com web site. However make sure that you do not turn off either your printer or computer when you are downloading and installing the printer firmware.
Alternately you can also try to download the and install the printer drives form the support site if the paper jam message is being displayed on the computer’s screen but not on the printer’s LCD screen.
