A large black blob (sort of a leaf shape) is appearing on the display screen and the rest of the background is white. There also appears to be a crack as well. The screen itself is not crack and the lens appears to be okay. What would cause this? What is the best solution?

- I appreciate the information and the suggestion for weighing the option of repair of purchase new camera. It seems like the cameras are reasonably priced that it makes sense to do that. It is my daughters camera and she has been taking some beginning classes. Unfortunately she must have not paid attention when the instructor said to take care of your equipment!! Thank you again.
This usually means that the liquid crystal has been broken in that section. Usually caused by something poking or pressing on that section of the screen. The only solution is to have it repaired or replace the camera. I'd get an estimate from an authorized repair shop or Samsung directly, and then weigh the options against buying a new camera, buying a working used one, or paying for the repair.

Batterys go dead when not in use-I can take one picture-turn it off--go back in a few hours and the batteries are dead--I'm using rechargeable batterys . Doesnt matter if I use regular or rechargable ones. The only way I have found ot stop it is take the batterys out after each use-then put them back in each time. Thank you for any help. M Clark
