Problem for Samsung Digimax S730 Digital Camera
Black blob appears on display screen and the background is white

A large black blob (sort of a leaf shape) is appearing on the display screen and the rest of the background is white. There also appears to be a crack as well. The screen itself is not crack and the lens appears to be okay. What would cause this? What is the best solution?

- I appreciate the information and the suggestion for weighing the option of repair of purchase new camera. It seems like the cameras are reasonably priced that it makes sense to do that. It is my daughters camera and she has been taking some beginning classes. Unfortunately she must have not paid attention when the instructor said to take care of your equipment!! This usually means that the liquid crystal has been broken in that section. Usually caused by something poking or pressing on that section of the screen. The only solution is to have it repaired or replace the camera. I'd get an estimate from an authorized repair shop or Samsung directly, and then weigh the options against buying a new camera, buying a working used one, or paying for the repair.
