I get an error when I tally cells that have errors because of dividing empty cell by empty cell.


Hi I dont really have much to do with Excel as I essentially build and repair and install, gosh I still type with two fingers!! Now below I have provided a link to Microsoft . well follow the steps below to get your job done:

To create an option button in Microsoft Office Excel 2007, make sure that you add Option Button (form control) to the Quick Access Toolbar. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Excel Options.
  2. Click the Customize category, select All Commands in the Choose commands from list, select Option Button (form control), and then click OK.
To create an option button and to assign a macro to it, follow these steps:
  1. In Excel 2003 and in earlier versions of Excel, click Option Button on the Forms toolbar, and then draw the outline of the button on the sheet.

    In Excel 2007, click Option Button (form control) on the Quick Access Toolbar, and then draw the outline of the button on the sheet.
  2. Select any cell in the worksheet.
  3. In versions of Excel that are for Microsoft Windows, right-click the option button, and then click Assign Macro.

    In versions of Excel that are for Macintosh, press COMMAND while you click or press CTRL while you click, depending on your operating system version. Then, click Assign Macro.
  4. In the Assign Macro dialog box, click the name of the macro that you want to assign to the option button, and then click OK.
When you click the option button, the macro will run.

I assume you mean that it's fine in 2003 but errors in 2007? If this is the case, then you may want to check the protection on the sheet. With 2007, you will run into this error everytime the macro tries to update a password protected sheet or portion of a sheet.

Creating Macros does not require programming. The only suggestion I would make if you are new to macros - break down your task to very small sub tasks, in order to avoid confusion.

There is function called INPUT, which opens an input window and waits for user input. The input is stored in macro cell and you can refer to it later. To get to the end of (or top of) use SELECT.END and you will go from the active cell to the first blank cell up, down, left or right depending on the argument you enter. These are Macro Version 4.0 functions and there are similar functions in VBA RHands

It may be that your F drive is badly fragmented or has other errors such as cross-linked files.
Right click on the F drive in Computer and choose properties, then the Tools tab and click Check Now, it should fix any disk errors that may be caasing you file errors.

Hi,
Cool problem I use this to track stocks for the latest 5 days, 15 days and so on.

First I have a sheet that is titled "DataRecord" this has my individual data in columns and the days recorded in rows. This is a complete record or all recorded stock activity. This is where all the entrys are made in rows. I freeze window to make the column headings and the left most column(the date) always visible to prevent errors.

Next I have a sheet that is titled "L5DaysData' I have sevreral rows of data like avg, & what ever. and the latest 5 days data starts on line say 6. a typ. cell ='DataRecord'!B970
The next cell down has a value of ='DataRecord'!B971 and so and on until B974

My Graphs are built on these individual "L5 or 15 or 60 or90 day" sheets of data.

Next I make a macro that translates the last line of data down one row and deletes the row just above the earliest that I want to save on "L5DaysData" so it always shows only the latest 5 days of information.

All the information shown on that worksheet is the data for graphs or tables refering to the latest 5 days activity.
The graphs are automatically updated with the data each time the macro is run.

You can also use a formula to adjust the date column by adding a value of one to a specfic dated cell untill you reach Sat or Sun and add 3 or 2 to that date cell and translate that down a column and use a work sheet that records only the latest 3Mo. with macros that updates the information when you want it to.

Macro on excel


Macros are a timesaving feature that allow you to record a sequence of actions that you do in excel, and replay them back later.

You give each macro a name, and you can invoke them later, and Excel will "do" whatever it is you did when you recorded the macro.

To record a new macro:
1) Open Excel
2) Go to Tools->Macros->Record New Macro...
3) Type in a name for your macro and hit OK

(A new toolbar will popup with a "stop" button on it. Excel is now recording everything you do)

4) Do something, like, for example, select some cells and make them bold.
5) Click the "stop" button.


Now your macro has been recorded! You can play it back later by:

1) Open Excel
2) Go to Tools->Macros->Macros...
3) Select your macro from the list
4) Click "Run"

The actions you performed earlier will now be executed.

Macros are written in Visual Basic for Applications, or "VBA". It is a programming language which uses the Excel Object Model to perform various actions. You can edit and create custom macros by writing the code manually in VBA. To do this:

1) Open Excel
2) Go to tools->macros->macros...
3) Select an already existing macro
4) Click "Edit"

(The visual basic editor will open, showing you the code for your macro)

At this point you are writing a program in Visual Basic. To learn how to edit macros, you need to learn visual basic, as well as the specific quirks related to excel macros in visual basic.

Recording a macro, and then using it as a template while you edit it is a common trick for making macros manually more quickly.

If you are not familiar with VB, I would not suggest attempting to edit your macros in any but the most simplest of ways. If you're brave, you can try to learn about editing macros in VBA here:

Office xp in excel


someone/something somehow had plug in Macro programming in your excell software.. uninstall the s/ware and reinstall again. before that check for virus with latest update
