Question about Panasonic AG-DVX100A Mini DV Digital Camcorder

Lens hood broken off and I need replace ment part to screw it bac

I have to fix my panasonic AG-DVX100A DV camera and I need a replacement part, I cannot locate a service manual without paying 50 dollars so I was wondering if there is any resource where I can find info on the name of the part i require. It is a common fault with this camera that the lens hood comes off and takes a piece of the moulded assemble focus ring with it.

My Panasonic DVX100A is not recognizing the tape what could be the problem?

most likely problem is dirty video heads. try a Panasonic cleaning tape; if that doesn't work, hand cleaning by a technician should work.

You probably have the lens cap on, the iris dial closed, or you are in vcr mode rather than camera mode. You may also have the nd filter set to 1/64th, this is only for bright sunlight. When shooting indoors with low light, set the nd filter to off and hit the iris button until iris manual appears on the lcd, then dial the iris dial in front of the iris button up or down to bring the iris to around 5.6 f stop.

Need to replace lens

Hi!
The DVC7 has a 43mm filter thread on its lens. Depending on your Bower's thread size, you may need a step-up or step-down adapter ring to fit it to the DVC.
After checking if you have your sizes correct, you need to remove the DVC7's lens hood. After that, it's just a matter of screwing the wide angle lens to the DVC's lens.
Hope this helps!

DVX100A panasonic camera tape mechanism not working

You can open the cassette cover and spray inside the upper left side of mechanism(closer to the back) with contact cleaner spray, because there is a rec inhibit switch. If it's not damaged and just dirty you solve your problem ,but if is damaged it needs replacement.

have seen a couple of these cameras with this problem.  a defective board inside the camera is the culprit. the board itself costs around $500 plus the labor to replace it.
