Question about Saeco Vienna De Luxe Espresso Machine

1 Answer

Get Coffee/Espresso but no more steam/hotwater from frother

My Saeco Vienna DeLuxe has been working great since Christmas and we've really gotten good at it. The other night my husband had some kind of problem and shut the machine off during a cycle of displensing coffee (beans had already ground). Since that time, we are getting good coffee/espresso, but we're getting no pressurized steam or water from the frothing dispenser. It's not that it's clogged at the tip, cause you can hear that it's not building up pressure. We hear the sound start for the pressure buildup but then it fades away and the red light comes on. We've taken it apart and cleaned it. Any ideas on what to try next? Thanks.

Re: Get Coffee/Espresso but no more steam/hotwater from...

There seems to be a leak in the line somewhere you should not use the machine or at least the frother until you get it checked out as it will blow the rest of the machines electrics and maybe kill you. if you move it and look under the machine you may find water this will confirm my suspicions. but there is definitely a leak in that line...

Red light showing when i go touse frother steam not consistent

For Saeco Vienna De Luxe Espresso MachineTeam says:

1. Your coffee maker might suffer from Steam, Coffee Bolier clogging due to scale. Due to clogging you are unable to product perfect steam, temperature drop in coffee, inconsistent steam flow, inconsistent water flow etc. We strongly advise you to do regular Descaling to your coffee maker (every 200-300 cups or 2 months)

2. If your coffee maker in working condition but still light is keep on blinking means required "Descaling". Please use the food graded Delonghi or equivalent brand descaler. You can order to us @ or buy online in India @

Only hot water comes out of the steam wand

Sounds like you might need a new steam boiler, or you may have a fuse that is blown for the steam boiler.

How do I descale my Saeco Vienna Deluxe?

Purchase the Saeco descaler. Mix solution accordingly. Pour into water tank. Run a cappucino cup full of water through the wand. Wait about 20 minute and repeat. Do this until all the water is gone in the tank. (Don't run all the water at once!). Rinse water tank well. FIll with clean water and run through the wand. I do this twice just to be sure I have gotten all the chemical out.

Saeco Vienna Deluxe leaking problem and grinder problem

I would repair it, it sounds like the grinder needs to be adjusted (burrs may be dull), and the leak on the bottom may be coming from the small drain hole on the back of the brew chamber. If you remo;ve the chamber you will see the white water valve that the chamber connect to, if you look below the white valve the small chamber in there will be filled with water, below that there is a small discharge use a stit stick or paper clip to clear hole.

How do I get the steam to work?

If it will make coffee then you have a horse shoe boiler blockage or a steam valve blockage.
Try descaling first. If this does not work you will have to disassemble machine and trace the water lines back from the steam wand to the high pressure pump to detrmine where the blockage is. This can be trickey and is best left to someone with experience with this type of fix.
