Question about HP Photosmart C3180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

HP Officejet 6310 cannot connect to computer

Computer recognizes and sends print jobs to printer. Printer cannot connect to computer but runs fine otherwise.
uninstalled and reinstalled printer software.
unplugged and reseated ethernet cable-no apparent damage
deleted and re-added LPT1 port
HP tech support confirmed printer is functioning properly

Printer still has no connection.
Any ideas?

SOURCE: USB port problems with hp printer

There are few things to remember using USB.

  • If your System is in hybernation mode, don't remove any attached USB device, because it will damage your USB driver. This is one of the known problem from microsoft.
  • If you have to remove any USB device use 'Safely Remove Hardware'.

To remove currepted USB drivers its not enough to remove your printer drivers.
  1. You should un-install the 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' from Device Manager.
  2. Then re-boot to clean registry.
  3. Install the 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' using XP Setup CD.
  4. Then check the Mass storage, PDA etc, it should recognized by XP.
  5. Then install printer driver (don't attach printer to system untill setup finish or setup says to connect).

I think it will fix.

Are you running AVG 8 free anti Virus? Did you install it recently? There are some reports that AVG 8 free version has some issues causing this to happen with VISTA. If so try printing with AVG turned off (Careful where you go on the internet while it is off - suggest a trusted site like microsoft)

Then try with AVG running and disable IE7 protected mode,

Click Tools, then click Internet Options.

  1. Click the Security tab.
  2. To disable Protected Mode uncheck the box next to Enable Protected Mode to disable it.
  3. Click OK.
Note: Enabling or disabling protected mode requires Internet Explorer to be restarted

If it is AVG causing the issue perhaps try and see if they have a later version available as it is not recommended to run with protected mode disabled

hi,

if printing from 2 other computer works fine, will i think its not an issue of IP address which changes somehow. but anyways, try to check if you still have other printer drivers under "PRINTERS" (see control panel). it should say HP Photosmart c6100 series. If you also have there a printer icon that says HP Photosmart c6100 series Copy1, try using it (right click on that icon and choose Set as Default Printer). If you only have HP Photosmart c6100 series under PRINTERS, try to right click, then choose properties. When Properties box is open, click on PORTS tab. then click on configure ports below. Try to type in the IP address of the printer under "Printer Name or Host name or IP address". make sure that you already printed network configuration page to get the exact ip address of the printer, Dont know how to print? do this.

PRINTING NETWORK CONFIGURATION PAGE
1. press setup, then scroll down and look for Network.
2. press okay on network, it will give you the first option "VIew network settings".
3. press okay on it, and it will give you the first option "Print network configuration page."
4. choose that and press okay. it will print the network config page. from this document, you will be able to see the IP address of the printer.

Please let me know if the issue is still not resolve so that i can go ahead and give you another possible solution.

You can preview a scan and adjust to whatever size you need by moving the dotted lines around the scanned image. Once that is determined you can rescan the doucument with the revised settings.

SOURCE: hp 1350v all-in-one printer won't print

if you have a print job stuck go in and hit cancel job. If it stays even after a few min right click "my computer" on your desktop and hit "manage" go to "services and applications" click "services" find the print spooler option and right click it and stop the service. Once stoped right click it again and start it. This should clear anything stuck in print queue trying to delete

Might be printernUSB port faulty, remove USB cable from the printer end, un install the drivers from system, re connect the cable. If system found new hardware, run the drivers, if printer not recognized, definitely its printer mother board faulty...

Copies have black streaks. Printer is fine. Have cleaned rollers and separator pad (with damp cloth) in document feeder. This did not help.

HP6300 will not accept print jobs from HP computer it says no computer connection. Has prinyed in the past

In this case please plug the printer into a different USB port and check for USB drive in device manager if it has red cross in it please enabel it or try to reinstall the HP prinetr driver.

I need to install my new HP Officejet 6310 and set it as the default printer . I don't have a Installation CD Rom


STEPS FOR INSTALLING THE HP OFFICEJET 6310 PRINTER WITHOUT CD-Rom
STEP 1: In your computer window click the Start button and select the option Devices and Printers.

STEP 2: A new menu Devices and Printers appear on the screen. Then click the option Add a printer.
STEP 3: After clicking the Add a Printer option two options appears on the screen.
Add a local printer
Add a network & wireless or Bluetooth printer.
Select the option that suits to your printer
STEP 4: If your printer is not a wireless then select the Add a local printer and select the option Use an existing port then click next.
STEP 5: Scroll down to select the HP in the manufacturer section.
STEP 6: Select your Hp printer model in the printer section then click next.
STEP 7: If your model number is not present then click the windows update it will automatically add your printer model.
Note: You must need internet connection to update the printer model to your computer.
STEP 8: Then click next and finish.

Hp 6310 show offline wont print


Hi, how do you connect to the printer? USB/parallel/Network? Does it prints fine if you print an information page from the printer display/butons? I would try to uninstall the printer driver and install it again to start. It's definately a communication problem so it may take a few tries to get it to work again.
