There is a mechanism underneath the deck which senses "end of record". This is operating too early and will require adjustment.

The top arm that swings over the spindle will control the automatic return. Leave the unit off. Swing the overhead holding top arm over and manually load a record. Now switch the top arm over the niddle spindle. Make sure that the switch is set for 7", 10" or 12" (45, 78, or 33). Manually place the tonearm at the start of the record and flip switch to 'play' (not reject or auto). It should play the whole record and automatically eject at the end and then shut off. Leave the arm swung over the middle after you loaded the record. Good luck. Let me know if you have any more questions.

How can I stop the tone arm from returning too early on smaller records?

The adjustment for auto return position is normally at the tone arm base on the left side under a rubber grommet. Use a flat blade screw driver to move adjustment screw, then test. Keep fine tuning until arm lifts at desired position. Cheers John. Stylus City NZ

I've recently picked up a Pioneer Plx-88z turntable second hand. I know that the player is working ok as putting the arm on the record plays music. The problem is that after a few seconds, no matter what,...

Hi, if it's a second hand device. there must be something wrong with the arm at it's moving axe. if something (dust or broken support) is blocking it, it will return automatically to its rest position to avoid any damage to the fragile and sensible "head"

Every record skips in different places

You should look for an anti-skate control on the turntable and adjust that. It will be a question of trial and error with it as there is no fixed rules for these. The weight on the back of the arm should be set to the weight of your cartridge.

In my DENON DP-300F tone arm don't come back after playing record. It just stays in the end of record? How can i fix it?

A lot of decks don't actually do that anyway. But if it previously did this then it's probably a mechanical problem. Removing the bottom of the turntable might show up the cause of the problem.

Hi Lisa, its a bit of a long shot however try this. With the turntable powered of manually rotate the platter approx 12 times to reset the auto operation back to default. John styluscity.com

Tone arm keeps returning to rest on Crosley CR249

Hi, Try this. with it turned off. Lift tone arm across a record to the run out groove and set it down. Now power up and hopefully it will reset itself. In all honesty I would sell it and get a decent old school player. John. Styluscity.com

Hi, I;m not familiar with that exact model however the problem you are describing is commonly caused by the automatic operation at some point not being allowed to complete its full operation. Ie the tonearm has been returned manually to its rest position before reaching the end of the record. Try this. With the player not powered up lift the tonearm across to the record run off groove and sit it there. You may feel some resistance which is normal as the mech has to eswt itself. Now turn on the power and turntable. The arm should automatically return from there to its rest. Try auto operation after that. Let me know how you go. Cheers John. styluscity@gmail.com
