I own a Multipass 390 which isn't printing correctly. I've replaced the ink cartridges and cleaned it. Black ink comes out faintly and the colors are faint or nonexistent.

I don't know if you will find any online, but Canon's customer support center (1-800-828-4040) sells print heads for your model (about $40). Use the phone prompts for supplies and accessories.

Printing is not clear some long white lines

This sounds like you are running low on ink, your print heads are clogged or are out of alignment. I would buy a new All-in-One because of the low cost of new ones these days but if you want to make this one work try using the printer software and find clean print heads and/or align print heads. If that doesn't work try new ink. Good Luck!

Printer is printing with a lot of lines

If the lines you are getting are white then you have clogged print nozzles. Typically the nozzles clog when old ink plugs up some of the nozzles on the print head. These nozzles can't spray ink onto the page and you end up with white lines. You would need to replace the print head but I would recommend you clean off your cap and wiper assembly first. If you don't and there is a bunch of old ink built up, you run the risk of clogging up the new print head and having the same problem.

Not printing properly

Print heads need to be cleaned cause they are clogged which is why even replacing the cartridges is not fixing the problem.

If the printhead can't be cleaned then a new printer is in order.

My kodak 5300 is printing poorly. one line will be normal and the next line will be real light...anything i can do..i have new ink and have tried all that i can think of... thanks

Here is a page for your software drivers and a firmware upgrade.
HOWEVER...This looks like the print head may be clogged. Try a deep clean cycle in the printer menu.
If any ink has been allowed to run out, or the printer has been idle for more than a 6 months, the print head is probably no good. Contact Kodak regarding a new print head.

My printer just prints in very light red

You are out of red ink, OR the print head is clogged (but that usually) produces streaky lines more so than light color.
You can try cleaning the print heads:
  1. Open the 3845 desktop assistant c00026601.gif icon on your desktop or start menu
  2. click on utilities or tools
  3. click maintenance
  4. click clean cartidges
  5. follow the on screen instructions
If that doesn't help, you're either out of ink in which case:
  1. Buy a new cartridge (or have yours refilled professionally)
or your print head is clogged beyond repair, in which case:
  1. Buy a new cartridge
Happy printing.

My ink levels are fine but print is very faint and lines are missing, it is illegible

Your print head is clogged or damaged. Press the print head into a paper towel. You should get a nice block of black or three stripes of color. If not, try placing print head on paper towels soaked with warm water to get the ink flowing (ink may soak through paper towels, so beware of where you do this). Then try pressing the print head onto dry paper towels as before. If you can't get the ink flowing, you need a new cartridge because the print head is clogged with dried up ink.
