Question about Samsung MW620 600 Watts Microwave Oven

1 Answer

Not heating I have a Samsung MW620 that does not heat. Everything works i.e lights, turntable, etc. I have already tried pushing down gently on the door. The Microwave, when it is on, makes no unusual sounds. I can hear it "shifting". To better describe it, it sounds just like an automatic transmission in an automobile when it shifts. Any ideas?

Everything works on microwave, but when it's turned on it makes a loud buzzing sound and it sounds like the heat cycles off and on. We have tried the demonstration mode trick and it doesn't do anything.

Assuming the door switches and mounts are okay, it would likely be a bad magnetron, or a bad connection at the magnetron or on the control board. See

Won't heat and turntable doesn't turn

In all likelihood the mangnetron has failed, or perhaps even something in the Power Supply. or a fault that is shutting the system mangnetron down, for safety reasons You need to have it serviced by a reputable service centre/man. Ensure you get a firm "Quote" before proceeding, and remember these days the cost of repair can equal or exceed the price of a new one.

Not heating food

While it's possible it could be a door switch or mount, it's most likely a bad magnetron or a bad connection at the magnetron or on the control board. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: You can order parts for Samsung models here:
