Question about Sony STR-DE545 Receiver
Every time I turn it on,it works for a few minites, then stops and displays "Protect".I notice that when it stops, there is a transister which is surounded by a "U" aluminum plate gets hot quickly.
This happens when you cross the speaker wires. the amp goes into protection mode. i would check the back for stray strands of wire touching. if thats not it it may be internal.

Your complaint isn't a problem at all. This is a usual characteristic of the relevant amplifier. The protection mode comes on when the main volume/bass/treble or whatever is too loud. Unfotunately, you can not overcome it. But, as they always say: It's a Sony:)
