No HD audio on Toshiba Satellite under Win XP Pro; Vista works OK
I have Vista & Win XP Pro in separate partitions with all applications working respectively. High def audio under Vista works fine. I have NO sound under Win XP Pro.
I've downloaded & installed SP32646 MS UAA audio drivers but still have no sound. How can I get hi def audio from my Win XP OS?

You need to get disk for Vista from anyone and then use your windows product key mentioned on the sticker on back of your Toshiba Laptop to install Vista again on your computer. But as you had already formatted it so all data is lost now.
If you can't find the driver for Win 7 try using the Vista driver from the Toshiba download page. You can also see what xp identifies the driver as and see if you can find the win 7 driver for that audio device direct from manufacturer.
Log onto the manufacturers site (laptop manufacturers site eg. sony ,toshiba,hp,compaq, dell, etc.)
frm there select the model of your laptop and there you will get what u want but select windows vista there.
You can access Vista disk management (right click on computer from the Start Menu > Manage > Storage > Disk Management) and shrink your current partition and create a new one. Then install XP on that new partition. This is if you want a dual boot of both XP and Vista.
Hi, your equipment not this one designed to operate with WinVista, you must do the downgrade to Win XP or Win 2000, which is for the operating system that was designed.
