Ok so I have a ge cafe. I recently replaced the motherboard as my controls were all messed up and it was not cooling. Afterwards it worked fine except that there was a howling noise inside of the unit. A...

Correct, condenser coils remove heat from the freezer compartment, thusly they will be hot. Sounds like the compressor is failing and that is probably giving off a squealing sound and stops running until it stops. Then your compressor will overheat and stop running until the thermal protector cools down and allows it to run again. Try replacing the compressor cooling fan.

My LG lp1010snr AC's compressor only seems to run for about 3 minutes on and 3 minutes off, is the compressor being this intermittent normal or is there a problem?

This is called short cycling and it is a problem. It sounds like the compressor is getting hot and shutting off on a thermal overload. When the overload (bi-metal contacts) cool from the compressor being off they close and the compressor begins running again. The refrigerant gas cools your compressor windings, so there may a restriction present or a leak, which would cause the compressor to get hot and open on overload. This is not good for the compressor and will eventually ruin it.

Dear, I have a question that when turn on the air conditioner, it's blowed out the hot air. How can i fix this problem to get it cool again? Thank you

You will need a service call to check for a leak in the coolant or possible bad compressor or compressor starter. If the compressor is coming on and no cool air then the coolant has leaked out and can no longer cool the unit and will need replaced by a licensed technician. If the compressor is not coming on but gets very hot then the compressor is bad, and if it is not coming on and not hot then the starter condenser is bad.

Gold Whirlpool 25.3 cu.ft refrigerator stop working

if the compressor is very hot then it can be possible that the compressor is getting faulty, but also other possibility can be the compressor relay.if the relay beside the compressor is got faulty then the compressor gets over heated.so first unplug the unit from main power outlet and then remove the relay and check it with continuity to confirm the fault.is it relay or compressor.

Refrigerator compresser get hot and is silent and both fridge and freezer do not work

Hi, compressor will switch off when it get to hot, by over load relay, by why, if your days are hot, or room temp. high, it would do that, unplug let it cool down, then replug it, see if it would start, if it does same thing, after cooling down, locate and check ,or replace capacitor for compressor, usually located near compressor, or your compressor has faulty internal windings, you should replace compressor, or you got low voltage, very commom in summer, use digital volt meter and check ref. receptacle, for precise voltage, a drop in line voltage, could damage or prevent compressor from starting, unplug ref. for 30-40mins, let compresor cool down, and make sure there's good ventilation around ref. then retry, compressor should start, if it didn't, then you shoud replace capacitor or motor overlay relay, located on compressor terminal box, remove cover, and you will see it, i know you're smart, just replace it, remove one wire from compressor terminal and next wire from wire harness, and relace, you can also check compressor winding by using ohm meter, remove wire from compressor terminal put one lead on copper tubing, and one by one, on compressor terminal, if you get a beep (continuity) compressor has a short circuit, you will have to replace, but first let it cool down, could be just another hot, low voltage day, let him cooldown first, and retry him, before you attempt any repairs. good luck.

Whirpool Refrigarator Compressor Very Hot Will Burn You and Is not Cooling Properly It is letting freezer melt and not barely cold inside

hey
you either have 3 things an over heated compresser, this wouldnt allow the compressor to cool anything beacuse it has an overload which kicks out once the compressor is too hot, and the compressor doesnt work without the overload. solution: get some paper towels, UNPLUG THE FRIDGE, and run some cold water on the towels and use them to cool the compressor, i like to get like 4 or 5 towels wet them and put them on top of the compressor and get another 4 5 towels wet them put the un the bottom front of the compressor. than use another 4 5 towels and cool the front by just rubbing the middle front. keep repeating this until your compressor is not hot anymore like luke warm or better than buy a 3 in 1 its like 20 dollars and install that ( if you need help i will be more than willing to walk you trough it over this or you can call me too)
and the second thing that it can be is overheated compressor due to the condesner fan not working, and thats simple fix just see when you turn on your fridge and turn the dials all the way up to 9 or w.e option you have. see if the fan by the compressor is working if not replace it its also like 20 bucks
or 3 the worst case scenerio free-on leak it has no freeon and the compressor keeps keeeps working to cool the fridge but it cant without freeon so due to the excessive working lol the compressor overheats and shuts off  if thats the case buy a new fridge

My refrigerator dosen't cool or freeze

the hot piece is the compressor.the clicking is the relay trying to start the compressor.generaly when im out on a service call and the compressor is hot and relay clicking the compressor has failed internally.because if the relay was clicking but the compressor was not hot there was a chance only the relay was bad and not allowing power into the compressor.but because the compressor is hot that tells me the relay is letting the power to the compressor but the compressor cant do anything with it because it locked up and its absorbing that power getting hot and then clicking on overload you could try a relay but i don't think it will help. God bless ,tom
