Adjusting operating temperatures when using a Zanussi FM 11 oven

When a recipe suggests an operating temperature for a recipe but does not offer the temperature for a fan assisted oven such as my Zanussi FM 11. What compensation should I give?

You may have a problem with your oven. Fan ovens always require a lower cooking temperature as the air circulates the heat better. I have always used a fan oven for cooking and my yorkshires and roasters are always perfect. The fan can't possibly be cooling it down as the thermostat sets the temperature and the fan just circulates the air.

also try not to open the oven door too much as this will affect the temperature quite a lot

Fan assisted ovens usually cook a lot faster than ordinary ovens - I haven't used them much but I normally check after half of the cooking time is done, to see how much longer the food needs. Just be careful if it's anything 'collapsable' like a cake or bread!..............

regarding temperature, people used to keep it 10 to 15 degree less as they are more quick that
modern ovens...

thanks.

Temp is the same, cooking time will differ. Keep an eye on it. There's no set rule of thumb. Elevation will affect times too.

How do I clear a f 11 fridgedaire oven

Good Afternoon Friend, this is Z. I appreciate your post!

If you are receiving an error code F11 on your Frigidaire range, it typically indicates that your range has detected an issue with the runaway temperature (overheating). One of the best ways to determine if this is a false error code is to reset the power to the appliance by either unplugging it or flipping off the breaker for about ten minutes. If the error code persists, at this moment I would suggest connecting a professional to proceed further. Most likely the EOC (Electronic Oven Control) or RTD Probe (Resistance Temperature Detector) will need replacing. I hope this information helps to some degree.

MAYTAG OVEN ERROR CODE F3

Hi Janine.

F3 means "Shorted oven temperature sensor" and it is returned when the oven electronic control detects a wrong impedance value from the oven temperature sensor circuit.

The oven temperature sensor is a probe located inside the oven cavity. The sensor can be removed from the oven and tested using a multimeter set on impedance. The impedance reading across the two sensor's contacts at room temperature must be about 1100 Ohms. Impedance increment rate is 100 Ohms more for every 50 degrees temperature increase. If the reading is sensibly different from this value the sensor must be replaced.

Here the replacement part:
Long Oven Sensor Kit

The sensor is indicated as part number 11 in the exploded view available here.

The sensor is held by two screws. In order to replace the sensor disconnect power, disconnect the connector attached to the sensor, undo the two screws and remove the sensor. Perform operations in reverse order to install the new sensor.

Regards.

Ginko

The teamperature on the digital display can say 350 degrees and the oven thermatore that is located in the oven reads 310. Does this oven need to be calibrated? The oven is 6 years old.

The thermometer that hang on rack are Whooly inaccurate. A good one is the TAYLOR brand. As long as things bake within recipe time no adjustment needed but to do it;
  1. Press BAKE

  2. Select the maximum temp. depending on model it either 500 or 550

  3. Quickly (within 5-seconds of setting 550) press and hold the BAKE button approximately 5-15 seconds until "00" or the previously entered temperature adjustment is displayed.

Pressing longer could cause an F0, F1 or F7 error to be displayed.

  4. Press the UP/DOWN arrow button to change the oven temperature in 5° increments to a maximum of +/- 35°

  5. Press the CLEAR or OFF button to return to normal operation.
But before doing that i suggest a new high quality thermometer that you hang on oven rack

When baking the oven doesn't bake evenly and always bakes quicker than the time on recipes. Items burn and the middle is raw. Can the oven be recalculated to work better?? John

Electric ovens are always different from gas ovens. You have to set the temperature on average 10-15 degrees lower and watch out 15 minutes earlier if you are baking cakes, 5 mins for cookies etc. Always bake in the centre of the oven. use a metal bowl of water in another tray which may help balance out the temperature

If oven is getting hot , but not hot enough, then the thermostat is probably faulty.if no heat at all, then you need to replace the oven element.
