SOURCE: Samsung SGH-U600 email set up
This maybe becos of your network or contract. On my phone it is an O2 phone but i on virgin mobile so it doesnt work and i on pay as you go so i think this is why it dont work u need a contract which allows internet/e-mail services if you're still stuck after that contact your network provider (e.g. Vodafone, Virgin, O2, Orange etc.) and ask them for help. Anway i'm just a kid but hope it helped you people!

Standard instructions for email inbox setup:
i have finished my corby pro email settings & i can send and recieve emails. the problem with only recieving & not able to send is the confusion between port numbers. in secure connection box three options available ' off ', ' SSL ', ' TLS '. use only SSL or TLS because the port numbers for SSL & TLS differs. just try this & you will be able to send and recieve emails.
SMTP port - 465
POP3 port - 995Enable POP in Gmail. Don't forget to click Save Changes when you're done.Configure your client to match the settings below:Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - requires SSL:pop.gmail.com
Unless you're using recent mode to download mail to multiple clients, make sure you've opted not to leave messages on the server. Your Gmail settings determine whether or not messages stay on the server, so this setting in your client won't affect how Gmail handles your mail.
Please note that if your client does not support SMTP authentication, you won't be able to send mail through your client using your Gmail address.
Also, if you're having trouble sending mail but you've confirmed that encyrption is active for SMTP in your mail client, try to configure your SMTP server on a different port: 465 or 587.You're now ready to use POP with your Gmail address.
