I had this problem and then I realised that when you click save, you then need to select which file you want to save (generally in your own name) it will then pop up with "progress saved" - simply selecting save is not enough
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

you can reset it using this method... WHEN U TURN IT ON WAIT TILL U COME UP WITH THE TOP SCREEN WITH NINTENDO LOGO HOLDING DOWN AT THE SAME TIME THE L&R PLUS ABXY BUTTONS THAT SHOULD RESET UR GAME FOR U
or by this method when it says saving do not turn of the power, turn off the power and the save will be deleted
After clicking "save" make sure you wait until it's done saving. You
should click save then wait a minimum 15 seconds. Put the DS down and
check your fridge for some leftover noodles, come back and turn it off.
You should never click "save" then turn off your DS moments later.
If it isn't that, then make sure you aren't accidentally shutting off during parts of the game where it autosaves.
Also, keep the game stored in a non-humid area that is fairly warm. It could be being read wrong.
The game should, of course, overwrite existing saves without problem
While the game does have a few set save points, the best way to save (which can be done at any time) is to use the Save option in the trunk (some players forget about this)
If you save into a save slot doing this and it's not there when you next restart the game, then something is wrong
If you purchased the game "second hand" on eBay, then you may have ended up with a pirated copy (these have caused various problems for players including stopping during the game)
The game doesn't have an option to delete the save files
If you are confident that saving just isn't working and you're unable to return the game for replacement or refund, one drastic course of action may be to corrupt the save (by quickly turning off the DS while it saves), thus causing the game to say the save is corrupted and make a new save file ... naturally, this should only be done as a last resort
To open the Golden Apple House, leave Ninteno DS turned on to the end of the game and let the credits run until you are told The End. Your Nintendo will then tell you it's saving your game, when you turn Nintendo back on The Golden Apple House is waiting for you in the Bonus section.
Hi, Mave8 when you, save your game, and then turn of your ds. Then when you go to play your game
again. It normally says, start new game, or continue. If you have saved the game by over writing an old file. You should be able to continue. Where you left of. Hope that, sort of helps. Pitsop
is this the actual real game or a rom download, if its just the real game i would take it back to where you got it from and demand for a replacement as it is faulty, if there is anything else you need let me know and good luck.
