Check the focus, or try to reset it back to factory specs in the menu.

There is no more picture. i thought it was the bulb i replaced the bulb but still no picture or light coming out

may be the colorwheel. if the colorwheel doesn't work, the lamp won't light. if the colorwheel and the lamp are ok, replace the ballast/power supply.

PT-AE700E projector appears to have gone kaput - not lighting up.

Because of high voltages and heat, there are many safety circuits inside these units. If you have a spare lamp, try replacing the lamp. Initial checks are made before the lamp is fired and sometimes a defective lamp can cause this. Also, can you descruibe what you mean by "noisier than usual"? Is the fan making more noise? Something elase making a noise?

Thanks,
Dan

After 20 minutes of use picture shuts down. (Sharp XR-10X)

use canned air and blow every bit of dust out of every vent and hole. if you want to, you can remove the top (6 screws on the bottom, and the 2 top screws on the back) and blow dust out that way. i could also be a power supply problem. from excessive heat, the capacitors on the ps dry up and don't work as they should, causing shutdown.

PT-AE 900U LAMP GOES OFF

does it stay on for about 10 minutes, then shut down? If so, that is indcating the lamp is near end of life, according to an hour counter built into the system.

The growling is probably the Dynamic Iris which has had a lot of issues. Mine started making noise after about 1 yr 9 months of ownership/use. Since I bought it with an AmEx card which doubles manufacturer warranty, I was able to send AmEx the quote, and they sent me a check, and I got it fixed.

The cheapest place I found for a replacement lamp is through one of the 2 or 3 sellers on ebay; I bought one last week for $260 delivered. Lamp is very easy to replace, but then follow instructions for resetting the lamp hour counter, or the unit will still think the lamp is near end of life.
