You have dual-element 240Volt electric water heater.
Since you have some hot water, then we know upper element is good, and that circuit breaker and electricity to water heater are good.
Not enough hot water is probably bad lower element, and possibly sediment build-up in bottom of tank.

first turn the breaker off there should be two covers on the font of the heater if you r just looking for adjustments u can take those covers off and there is usually a foam piece behind the covers pull the foam off and there should be a dial to adjust it

try setting the bottom 10 degrees hoter than the top could be in short cycle (thatis the bottom calls for heat on the bottom element and set too close so goes back to top and cycles off
