Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700 or DDR PC3200 with a maximum of 1GB per slot. Four slots means 4GB maximum.

Windows XP should run fine with 512MB, but 1GB or more is best.

Vista needs a minimum of 1GB but 2GB or more is preferred.

If your system has a speed issue, it could be from too many startup programs (adding ram would help) or a damaged/corrupt operating system or a virus infection. It could also need a Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragment, your page file could be too small or you hard drive could be running out of space. It could also be that you have certain programs, like TrendMicro PC-cillin, that cause a huge drain on system resources.

Re-post if you are having any other issues (popups, programs won't run, programs close with errors). Include specifics like operating system, system ram, hard drive size, anti-virus running, etc.

Best supported processor for gaming?

For CPU upgrade it is hard to say without more information. These machines can have several different mother boards. Take a look at the mother board and find a Model number. With what you gave it looks like it runs a Pentium 4 641.

However, when systems get slow they may need a clean out. I use CCleaner to clean excess files and the registry out. But make sure to have a backup.

Other then this speed for gaming depends on what type of CPU, memory (RAM), motherboard, etc. that you have. There are so many products on the market, so exact details are needed to see what is slowing you down. Also, if frame rate, FPS, is an issue then, Do you have a video card that is not integrated on the motherboard?

My pc is very low.I need fix

Slow PC does not mean it has problem only with motherboard. Speed of the PC also depend on the following factors :
  1. Processor
  2. RAM
  3. Virtual memory
  4. Operatin system
  5. Video graphics card
To fix the problem you should first check which type of processor is used in you PC. Is it pentium4, Dual core, Core 2 duo or core 2 quad ? Core 2 quad is much faster if used with 4 GB RAM. RAM is also the cause to slow the PC. If you are using less RAM automatically your PC will be slow. So use RAM higher i.e 2 GB or more.
Virtual memory does not have much impact on speed but it is also a factor to slow down the PC. But if you can correct any of the three parts then no need to check virtual memory.
If you are using operating system like Vista then computer may be slow. Instead use XP professional, Windows 7.
If your PC doesn't have graphics card then it will be slow while playing games, watching videos. So if you are a game lover then change your graphics card with higher value such as 2 GB or more.
If you will fix these problems then you can speed up your PC

What is better to put in my p4p800 vm 2gb or 4gb???? and run good game with quality ???

the more ram you can get in the faster your machine will run especailly with graphics intense operations, like games, video and editing of the later. As important is the speed of your processor. If you have a slow processor, you can't change that, but generally speaking more is best when it comes to RAM

if it is a continuos repeated beep beep sound your hdd cable is loose and if it comes at boot time only it is the sound for ram testing which says ram isok
if a continuos long sound comes and pc doesnot start it is the case of ram fault try cleaning contacts of ram and ram slot with alcohol methyl or spirit or Absolute vodka works best.

I have desktop / dell cpu unit pentium 4, 1.8ghz, 512ram, 64 video card, and with xp os on it. My problem is that after i changed the hardisk of cd rom into dvd rom awhile ago, my computer gets too slow....

the best thing you could do is to increase your amount of ram in your pc this will handle the slow down problem. recording software takes quite a bit of ram space dvd software takes more ram than your cdrw. if you video card doesnt have its own on card ram this will also slow you down. depending on the motherboard you have its possible to upgrade the proccessor to a faster one 2.8ghz intel new can be bought for like 17bucks but ram is the easiest and sounds like just what your needing.

Slow start computor

I think Vista might be a bit too beefy an operating system for your PC. If you dont have 1gb RAM minimum its just not going to be fast. You would be better off going back to XP.
