Take your headphone jack converters and use large converter and plug into the channel 4 submic. take cord off of basic technic stereo dh1200. detach cord and plug into ipod, then into converter and push PLAY wohooo. Music will come out of whichever assign A or assign B knob channel you set it too. If you don't know where that is. It is close to the crossfaider. This is for a DJM-500.

Hi guys, I have a DJM500 mixer which has been a trusted friend over the years but unfortunately channel1 ( CDline/ line) only produces a level on one side only, the other is totally dead. Would appreciate...

It sounds like you have a broken slide switch, the switch that changes the signal between CDline/line. Is is quite a common failure for these Pioneer mixers after a few years of use.

The spare part is this: http://www.artaudioparts.com/product/dsk1044
If you decide to fix it yourself, be advised that it requires a fair amount of disassembly work and some desoldering/soldering skills.

Good luck!

C how can I conect my loptop to the mixer so i can play the music from my computer

To connect your laptop to your mixer, first you need to buy a mini plug to 2-RCA cable, like the one in the figure below:

mike_lm_2.jpg
Then connect the two RCA plugs to one channel, using the inputs marked LINE or CD, as shown by the red arrows in the figure below:

mike_lm_3.jpg
Let us say that you already have two CD units connected to channels 1 and 2. Connect the cable mentioned above to the two RCA jacks of Channel 3.

Now, connect the mini plug to the sound output of your laptop (it should be merked LINE OUT, PHONES or have the symbol of a phone close to it). If the output is dinamically addressed, i.e., the sound driver pops up a windows asking what have you connected to that input, please mark the answer that indicates LINE OUT or HEADPHONES (or something related, but not LINE IN or MICROPHONE).

Adjust your laptop volume to LOW. Switch on your mixer, select the channel you connected the laptop and increase its volume. Put a song in your laptop to play and raise its volume little by little, till you have a good level of sound with no distortion

A word of caution: If you adjust the laptop volume to maximum, distortion could occur, so experiment with the laptop volume to find the best level.

Hope this info may help you!

I HAVE DISTORTION SOUND FROM MY PIONEER DJM 500 MIXER

The first thing that comes to mind is that these units usually use op-amp ICs for buffers on the output lines. These ICs are either defective, or you have lost one of the power supplys. In any case, this is not a simple thing to trace without some test gear. I suggest that you bring this to an audio repair shop. If the ICs are defective, they cost less than $1 each and you will need at least 2.

Pioneer DJM500 Mixer - Bass EQ Control on Channel 2

You might want to clean the exisiting potentiometer with dielectric solvent. This might work without having to replace the Pot. But if you have to replace it, make sure you have the correct tools. This is a fine soldering job, but it appears you have the correct part.

Pioneer DJM 500 Ch 2 Bass Controller

The bass pot's / controls are notorious for becoming dry jointed, all that is usually needed is the controls resoldering.

Pioneer djm 500 trims not working properly

The rotary controls / pot's (especially "low") on DJM500's are nototious for becoming dry jointed, usually a quick resolder of the legs / connections sorts them out.
