Question about Mitsubishi WS-65513 65" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Mitsubishi ws-65513 I have a 65513 series. Our front panel was cracked where the power and channel buttons and such were located so the board is broke. We use the remote to turn the unit on and off. But this is not the problem. The Problem is that for the last 3 months or so the tv got to where it just does not turn on the first time. You have to repeatedly press the power button on the remote maybe 3 times or whatever not many, but then you have to wait 3 or 4 minutes and repeat. Uually the third or fourth time it comes on with about the second press of the power button. You can press it 50 time your first attempt it won't come on. You just have to press a couple times, wait, and try again, it is so finicky that if you repeat turning on too soon, or if you wait over 5 minutes to press again it won't come on. We have to wait 15 20 minutes to get on... Now it won't come on at all. And we have no green light to go by since the board is broke on the front. When I unplugged and plugged back in, I heard the power supply click, so that should still be working. Please Help.

    UPDATE:

    I had my board soldered together, but had never relplaced since front panel is broke. Last night I did however connect the board.

    The light is flashing constant green.

    I have found that it only does so as you press the power button. So if you press the power button on remote or whatever, and then wait around 30 seconds, the light will finally go off.

    press again and wait for light to blink and go off and tv may come on when light stops...last night i found the third time the light went off I pressed power the tv came on.

    while the tv was in use, i guess you could say warm components, I cut off the set, waited 5 minutes then hit the power, the green light flashed around 30 seconds, then went off and tv powered right on.

    Wht does this sound like the problem is?

This is more than likely a case of the capacitors in your DM module failing. Email me at doin12volt at yahoo, and I will send you repair instructions.

Good Day, nixonam;
This a very common problem with model. Don't listen to other comments unless the use the correct replacement parts.

SYMPTOM: Power LED does not stop blinking after plug in.

CURE: replace C9B01, C9B02,C9B10, and C9B11 (1000 uFD 16V) on the DM PCB. Replace them with part # 181P734030 (680uFd 16V).

The DM Board (PCB) is located on the very left side of the TV looking from back. Caution on removing Board and note what cables you disconnect to access the Metal Shielded Board.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

Mitsubishi WS-65511 Turning off

Good Day;

Your chassis V21, 2002 model TV has a problem, but to determine what, try this; press the 'input' and 'menu' buttons on the TV"s front panel for at least 10 seconds. Count the blinks (after releasing); eg blink, blink pause 6 blinks = code 26. The code will repeat 3 x's. The most common problem is the convergence IC's are bad or fluid on the boards.

Good Luck, Day let me know, Big Irish.

If you are still having this problem, the tv has a bad DM board there are four caps on that have gone bad. It is cheaper to have the board repaired then replacing . Call a local factory authorized dealer, it should cost around $400.00 to repair.

Constant green blinking light Mitsubishi tv

First wait 90 sec. after power is applied before turning on. If still blinking forever "this is a common problem with the mitsubishi V23 chassis, There are four 1000 UF capacitors in the DM module that go bad. Location #'s c9b01,c9b02,c9b10 and c9b11. The DM module is the large steel card cage on the left side when looking inside with the back off. Once you get the cage out, remove the board. The caps are the larger ones on the top of the board. They will more then likely be bulged out on top or exploded. Replace with 1000 UF @16V or better. This should get you going again. I've done about 15 of these repairs in the last year. Note: try not to mangle the copper grounding fingers. Good Luck.

Have you looked at the DM board fix yet that's available here. http://www.fixya.com/howto/h154057-mitsubishi_dm_board_repair Check it out. If the inside of your TV set does not look like this, you will need to get the service manual to disassemble the set and get to the DM board, but use the rest of the guide to repair the board. If you are successful, you will save almost a 1000 bucks! Good Luck
