Question about Canon PIXMA MP600 all-In-One InkJet Printer
Firstly I am not sure if your inquiry service is free to users I do not wish to pay for the advice I am seeking so please notify if that is the case - I am not looking for a technical repair (which I would obviously pay for) just a brief item of information if you are able. So if you can help....
I believe that I have seen in a magazine or some such a printer displayed that was no larger that perhaps a rolled up umbrella and that would fit in my briefcase. As I remember it the gismo prints only single A4/A5 sheets fed in one at a time. This kind of item would be really useful for me when I run workplace mediations - as we need copies to run off and sign by the end of the day and the nature of the material is confidential so I am loathe to ask the hotel or conference center to print them for me for security reasons (and sometimes they refuse for IT security reasons). Someone in PC World said he thought that Cannon did one such hand held printer but they did not know who stocked them. I can't find anything on Canon or other internet sites smaller that a normal ink jet desktop printer - and I did used to take my portable Canon i80 with me to events but even that - though pretty small - is really a full desktop printer and more than I need to carry around simply to produce up to maybe 12 + copies at any event. Then I came across your interesting site - while searching - and thought I would try it - so wonder if you have any info that would help on any such hand portable and supplier (I live in UK - North Wales, Angelsey). Thanks - Marcelas
Canon made two portable printers, the BJC-50 (1998) and the BJC-55 (2000) which were about two thirds the size of the i80 that you have - 11.9 x 2 x 4.4 in. They are pretty old, and getting drivers for current OSs may be a challenge (I can't find any newer than Windows XP or Mac OS9). Amazon is showing a listing for a couple of used BJC-50s for $159.
