::check engine like::E49::

So the mechanic wasnt the nicest guy and didnt explain anything. I need to know how to fix this problem. I have the diagrams and everything but they mean nothing to me. i dont understand them.

I dont know what an "ECM" is and I dont know what the
"electric control valve"(ECV) is either.and "electric switching valve"(ESV) can someone help me please?

P.S. I want to work on the car myself, so easy to understand diagrams or explainations of where the parts are and what they look like would really help.

Thanks

what kind of car do you have? do you know what codes you are throwing?...the ECM is basically the computer of your car and it monitora all the various sensors....when a sensor is malfunctioning it sends a signal to the ecm...hence a check engine light...

The Engine Control Unit or ECU is a designated computer that was developed to manage the engine control system. The ECM consists of electronics which are mounted on multi-layer circuit board

. The ECM monitors and adjusts the air/fuel mixture and utilizes a catalytic converter to minimize amount of pollution produced from the engine. herses a few links to get you to at least understand what the components are...if i had more info i can help further:)

thanks for the question hope to hear back from you..

It sounds like you really would like to start repairng cars, and maybe take up being a mechanic for a living....

Check into your local Techincal College for classes..and some high schools that still offer tech classes for cars will teach the students using your car...you pay for the parts..they get the knowlwedge/education, and everybody wins.

Good luck, and Happy New Year

Your car uses first generation diagonstics. Very simple, basic, and easy to understand.

Also very easy to repair.

The code "E49" does not exist.

I don't need the actual code to tell you how to fix your car.

Just give me a:

VERY DETAILED

explanation of the problem.

If you really want to fix this problem yourslf then you will need to go to this site http://alldatadiy.com/ and buy a subscription for your car. It cost under 30.00 and is good for 1 year. They have test procedures, repair procedures, component locations, wiring diagrams etc, everything you will need. It is well worth the money. I looked up code E49 and there is no such code.  Do you know how ot pull up the trouble codes. Scan it again and tell me the correct code so I can help you.

What do I need to do to fix the ac on my 2002 chrysler sebring?

the pressure seems too low to have gas in the system
most ac units start at 30psi for r12a and around 70psi for r134a
you are well advised to get it fixed by a professional ac specialist shop if you want to save money ion the long run
All the local guy would do is add gas and not bother to check for leaks so it would be a waste of the money

Huge noise in my 2003 Outlander. 2 different mechanics and they still couldnt fix it? Timing Belt snapped while I was driving and they replaced the belt and the car turned on and is running like before so...

Timing belt snapping at speed means that the engine would need a strip to check for damage caused by parts coming together that have no right hitting each other and who ever changed the belt should know that if they where any use as a mechanic

If not starting U have either a fuel delivery issue or a no spark situation. Open a fuel delivery joint by the engine and turn on the ignition. If fuel squirts out the pump is fine and the hassle is with the spark. Could be bad igniter causing either no spark or a weak one.

I have a Honda accord that needed a new starter. Now the mechanic says I have to replace a plate?? that will cost me another $1000. Please explain to me what the problem could be and why it wasn't...

Flex plate, thats the gear that the starter meshes with to turn the engine. if it was noisy and didnt turn the engine every time, the the mechanic would not know this until the starter was out and the "flex plate" gears inspected.

Leaking antifreeze, doesn't run hot, took off hoses thought it was the top hose and can't see anything wrong with it. Can't see any cracks in radiatior any ideas?

You state you checked the top hose, did you check the bottom hose as well? Also, there is the possibility it could be leaking at the water pump.

Hello! I find it very difficult to believe that the timing chain "snapped"...First of all it would have taken the fellow several hours of removal to view the timing chain...Not to mention the fact that an engine will not run without it...Based upon what you are saying, the repair shop is not a place I would have my vehicle worked on...The mechanic may have misspoke so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt...However,"hearing" that compression is lost is not a valid test...

There are quite a few reasons why an engine would run rough...Lets keep it simple and troubleshoot the problem without spending much money...Car was running fine when you parked it...Tires were slashed...Any damage under the hood?

First, I would bring the Maxima home...Then purchase a new battery...You'll need some simple tools...A set of metric open end wrenches (10mm) for the battery terminals as an example...Also a multimeter...Home improvement stores sell them for $15-$20...

Send a comment and I'll talk you through a few simple tests...Guru.............Saailer

E49

Go to http://alldatadiy.com/ and buy a subscription for your vehicle. If you want to repair it yourself you will need this data. It is good for 1 year and has, testing and inspection guides, component locations, wiring digrams and a lot of info the DIY'er needs.  I am looking in all my code manuals and still do not see an e49. AIR is a system that puts fresh air into your exhaust so the emissions at the tailpipe are lower. It's an EPA mandated system. If you have to pass an emissions test in your state or county you will have to get them system woking properly. Check out alldata it is worth the 30.00.
