Yes, you can probably do it. I say probably because you didn't say which model D-Link router you had. Do you know how to get into your router's setup screen? Most routers can be configured using your web browser, by going to one of these three addresses:

http://192.168.0.1
http://192.168.1.1
http://192.168.0.254

There is a password set by default, which is 'admin' for most D-Link models. Leave out the user name.

Once you're accessing your router's setup pages, you'll have to hunt for security-related pages, and find the one with time restrictions. Consult the user guide or online help for your specific router. ; You can restrict time for all users or for specific users, based on their' computers' MAC address.

It is much better to configure your router using a wired (non-wireless) connection.

I dont think this router has that facilty only to schedule to local netwrotk using virtual server - advanced tab

you could buy a timeswitch - one that plugs into a standard socket and you plug the router into the time switch and set the times you want it on

Most residential routers are stateless devices that cannot do any content or time-based filtering. If either of your machines is running Vista, however, it has in-built parental controls which will allow you to restrict Internet access times.

If you do not have Vista, you will probably have to replace your D-Link router with a model like the iBoss from Phantom Technologies. It has a complete list of parental controls including content-filtering, program access control (e.g. chat, gaming), and time scheduling. You can reference a complete list of its features here:

Access your router via the built in configuration page, default is http://192.168.1.1. I'm assuming you're the administrator; If not, contact him/her. At the top of the window, select the "Access Restrictions" tab. The policies will be listed and can be modified.

I want to disable the wireless signal from the hours of 12:05am-6:00am. I have one computer physically connected to the router, and 2 xbox 360's and one laptop using the wireless signal.

Hi, you can set up an Internet access policy through the router that will block Internet access for specific computers. The Internet Access Policy screen can be found in the router's configuration software, under Access Restrictions and then Internet Access. You can choose time ranges to block and specific computers or devices for it to apply to.
If you don't have the user guide that came with your WRT54G router, you can download a free PDF version of it here:

I need to limit access to my linksys wlan. How do I do it?

Hi Friend,

Type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of the Internet Explorer and hit enter. Do not type anything in username and type admin in password(only if you have not set the router password).

Now click Access Restrictions tab. Click Enable and restrict the acess according to your need.

I'm still fooling around with it, but what I did to restrict access from my kid's machineto the internet was, browse to the router config page, default for my Belkin router is http://192.168.2.1 . Click Access Control on the menu, enable it, enter a password (this is separate from your router admin password), click the "Add" button, chose the system I wanted to restrict, specify the days and time I wanted to restrict (though I would like more flexibility here to select more than one time range), on the Service tab, verified that "Block All Services" was selected, on the URL List tab, verified that "Block all URLs" was selected, then clicked the "Apply Changes" button.

How do i setup my router to shut down the udp port at a certain time....xbox live is what i'm trying to control

Your router does not have the advanced features that would be needed to do this. However, this can be controlled using parental controls on xbox live. Here is a link: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/familysettings/xbox360/familysettings-intro.htm

hi! I think your dad set the parental control on the router setup page, in order to remove this restriction, u need to access the router setup page by pulling up a browser and at the url , type in 192.168.0.1, by default the username is admin and the password, just leave it blank, if you can access the setup page then select on parental control and just turn it off and the restriction will be disable.. first things first, u need to access the setup page in order to turn off the parental control..

Once installed and configured you will be able to control the download speed to the Compaq machine (for example if you have 2mbps download speed you can set 1mbps for just your machine and .5 mbps for each of the remaining 2 machines). You can also set a daily limit to the amount of data the Compaq can download (for example you can say the Compaq machine can only download 250 mb per day). You can restrict the compaq to accessing the internet during certain hours (for example it can access the internet from 8am-9pm and block access from 9pm-8am.

The new network configuration will have the adsl modem connecting directly to a network card on the ipcop computer. The ipcop computer will need a 2nd network card to connect the router. Use ipcop to control dhcp ip addressing instead of the DI-524 router or use manual addressing.
