What do i have to do to plug my 110 air conditioner into where my 220 window unit

You need a step down transformer, to convert 220V to 110V. You can't just plug the 110V A/C unit in directly unless it is clearly marked as being suitable for multi-voltage supply (110V - 220V input).

Such a transformer has to be of sufficient capacity to handle the current, or wattage, that will be required. The Frigidaire unit in your question is a 3.5 kW cooling capacity, so the transformer would need to be about the same, ie for a 10A supply at least. They are quite big boxes, about $120.

You would put this in the roof or in a cupboard.

Why must I use the cercut breaker button to turn off

Good Morning Friend,

I understand you have to turn off your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAC126P1A, at the circuit breaker. You should not have to use the circuit breaker. You should be able to turn it off at the control panel. I suggest contacting the manufacturer directly, for further assistance. They should be able to point you in the right direction of having your appliance functioning correctly. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Where is breaker located in hitachi split ac

you didn`t told if it is already installed or just going to install.by the way,it has no breaker in it even on outdor unit, the only components that switching in it`s power are relays controled by electronic ckt the.installers of it,they just attaching the hot wire from your DB`s to the a/c switch(20 ampers,35 amperes) and going down to indoor units.your main distribution box has its own load schedule for it`s breaker attached in it.and not in your split type unit.the way of tracing it is look for the label opposite side of DB`s cover and it shows you where of those breakers are loaded by your a/c.

I am going to install a 3 phase 100 amp circuit breaker panel board to provide service to 9-10 individual air conditioning units. how do i wire these services?

you dont need 3 phase you need a 220v or 110v single phase supply these units usually take about 10 to 15 amps each if this is central units then you can use 3 phase but not nescessary

I have a Frigidaire air conditioner. I've never had a problem with it,at all until a few minutes ago. It all of a sudden quit working. I pushed the reset button and tried to push power, but nothing....

First check the outlet the unit is plugged into. It may be dead, due to a circuit breaker being tripped. Also, the interior of the outlet may be damaged or has a loose wire.

If a circuit breaker was tripped, unplug the unit before resetting the circuit breaker. Then plug the unit back in and turn it ON. If the breaker trips again, there may be a short in the AC wiring or there is another electric appliance on that same circuit, that may be causing an overload, when the AC unit is ON.

Hope this helps you to start troubleshooting the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a LG LWHD1500ER window air cond. and am wondering if I can plug it into a plug in my bedroom that has nothing else plugged into it? I don't know what a dedicated circuit means?

When you say dedicated circuit, you should have an electrical outlet that was installed just for your air conditioner. This outlet must have it's own circuit breaker that has higher ampere ratings. This ampere rating must correspond to your air condition horse power (HP) e.g. .75 hp, 1 hp, 1.5 hp, 2 hp. You should consult a qualified electrician for your safety.

Hi, my Frigidaire AC (FAA068P7A) unit was working fine last year. Put it back in the window today and now it won't power on. I checked the power cord, but cord is fine (I actually opened up the machine...

Sounds like a breaker has tripped (caused by the unit) or is it might just be 'off' for some reason. I would check the outlet (where the AC plugs in at).

If the AC is a 110V unit you can check the outlet by plugging in something else, i.e. a hairdryer. If the hairdryer doesn't work either - then you know your breaker is tripped. On the other hand if the hairdryer 'works' then you know the problem is in the unit, where I'm afraid you'd be better off to have a technician to trouble-shoot it, although you could try sending additional information at this point for more help.

Remember if it is a breaker tripped - it was probably tripped by a malfunctioning Air Conditioner so if it 'trips' again in the immediate future you will need someone to check it out.

good luck!

GFI on cord trips out.

Probable cause is a single pole gfi opposed to a double pole gfi.
* Do not use a single pole GFCI ON A MULTI WIRE CIRCUIT, IT WILL NUISANCE TRIP IMMEDIATELY
Use a two pole GFCI circuit breaker on such circuits.
